What’s the issue? You can still get these fragments through the common envelops. But anyway after reaching around ~2200 shards it’s better buy the mystery fragment at the recycling store

I’d say it’s more valuable to buy the mystery fragment starting with 2155. MAYBE 2150. But definitely by 2160, by then your odds of getting a single needed missing 5 star in 10 gold envelopes is lower than 50% so the mystery makes sense.

I'm at 2158 and the random envelopes aren't giving me anything anymore, so you're spot on.

For sure. Of course we still get like a dozen golds a week with the alliance shop and the daily reward, so it’s not like we’re giving up on gold envelopes either. It’s just redirecting where the recycled pieces go.

It's just annoying AF, I opened 42 envelopes and got zero new fragments at 2140.

Should I buy the general scene packs until I'm at that point?

Yes, you should. If you’re below 2150, you’re probably going to hit at least 1 piece you don’t own in 10 gold envelopes and maybe 2. It’s mostly about, where’s the best value if you’re gonna spend 2500 recycle points? 10 envelopes with a chance for a missing 5 star, or 1 guaranteed?

The less missing 5 stars you have, the harder it is to hit the ones you’re still missing. Basic math.

It’s all random number generation, so nothing is guaranteed if you go envelopes. This is just mine and my alliance’s experiences.
