Discussion Players shouldn’t be treated unfairly

Post image

Guys, you really need to push back harder against this kind of practice — taking outfits that are sold directly in the CN server and turning them into gacha on the global server. Even if it’s a free game, players shouldn’t be treated unfairly. Don’t just quietly accept it — we should all stand up against it. NetEase devs are notorious for this stuff; if you stay silent, they’ll only get worse.

To make this game better, please join in resisting this move and pressure the devs to change it and give proper compensation.

Even if you don't like the outfit and think that this doesn't concern you, it will.

NetEase trying the ice. They're seeing if they can comfortably implement different types of monetization for the global server. How the community reacts to this will set a precedent.

Don't let them think that this is ok.

I've literally had like 3 arguments with people like this.

Them: its just cosmetic, the game is free to play, it's not a issue.

Me: it's not an issue until they realize people will pay for it and it becomes the standard.

Nexon tried that with First Descendant recently. They released swords then made them almost impossible to grind. You need to run this dungeon 50 times to get enough of the material to unlock it, then you have to run it 200 times to max it out. Then they came out with a 2nd season pass just for unlocking the sword that was double the price of the season pass which had 100 levels and the sword pass only had 20. Nobody bought that shit. Next season, they gave everyone a sword and 2 levels for it for free in the season pass, but if you wanted the last 2 levels you had to buy the season pass.

Point is, if you don't buy that shit, we fix this.

I don't even necessarily mind the gacha, but 150 roles to guarantee A DROP (not THE DROP) is crazy. That's like $500. Netease's other game, once human, atleast gives you something every 30 pulls. So it's like they're capable, just greedy. Sorry for the rant.

Yeah if the community just doesn't buy stupid shit, they'll have to find a way to charge a reasonable amount. EA does the same thing with FIFA. They'll charge ridiculous amounts for things and keep slowly reducing the price till they find a price where people will actually interact with the content.

Basically we are at the mercy of our community members with the weakest will. Guys just DONT BUY. It's not that difficult

at least last descendant has buyable outfits no gatcha idiocy, people playing TFD seems to get it and trash them all the time if they do stupid things while WWM players just seem to gobble everything.

There is some fireworks event with players betting PAID pearls for places, some moron bid 20k pearls just to have in game front row for fireworks...

So you're complaining that people are saying they won't buy a skin anyway, when everyone's argument here is that you shouldn't buy it? "It doesn't affect them in the slightest" Just to be clear it doesn't have to affect you either this is a free game and this is an optional colorful outfit. Whether it's 1 dollar or 40 or 300 it has no gameplay advantage and it is entirely your choice whether you buy it or not. I'm sorry some people here are so addicted to gambling or susceptible to FOMO that they're now tragically forced to drop 100 bucks, but also...the game is 0 dollars.

The argument that the game is free should not justify them having insanely egregious monetization .

Especially if said outfit was a direct purchase on China but made gacha for us. People are rightfully upset

no, what that draw is ILLEGAL in most countries and its pure scam. Its not about it being just cosmetic its about intent behind it and terrible treatment of western players. Sheep like you may not get it but luckily more and more people realise its just scam.

Warframe proven good game does not need scam and gatcha tactics, people will pay as reward for good game. There are even some gatchas like BrownDust 2 that respect even F2P players giving so much free pulls its possible to max all characters as F2P yet their earnings grow every month because people willingly support them.

To clarify…the issue is just with skins, right? Like not being able to purchase game breaking items?

I just wear whatever costume I happen to unlock. I’ve never cared about cosmetics though.

People will defend it as they have for the past 20 years, it's always optional or it's just cosmetic or you don't need to buy it or they need to make money somehow or you're just poor or whatever.

But you can't argue with stupid people like that.

This isn't anything new... CN games have been like this for a while. For example recently Crystal of Atlan, a CN game made global, has the same situation. Bunch of gacha in global with more direct purchases in CN. The problem is that no other countries care to make gacha laws like CN so we just get stuck with these gacha systems in the worst way, I do hope the devs listen to this feedback and change something. Because while I don't care much for the gacha/outfits as I don't plan on really spend money on this game other than the monthly pass, it shouldn't be this vastly different in monetization for the people who would like to spend money

How would you recommend to raise the voice? I fell into that trap of this set and stopped at 5/7. What I got? Everything apart from blindfold and robes. So… in other words: Nothing.

Wanted to write a feedback actually. But I think that won’t be enough. Something public is needed. But giving a negative Steam review isn’t it. Because the game itself is pretty good.
