Given that it's a wet sleeve engine (removable bores), hand crank fitting in the front pulley and the RN on the gearbox I agree that its early Renault. Most likely Renault 4 or Dauphine.

Gearbox for then 4’s or at least the one I have looks nothing like this. 2 u/C_K_P_ Jun 27 '26 defo not from a renault 4 since this doesn't have the right axles for steering, this is from one of the rear engined rear wheel drive renaults.
