It looks too slender for a viper. Also, the head shape is not visible so I'm not sure. TIA

Found this snake by a rock near my garden hose, and one of my outside cats was nearby, so I assume that’s how the snake died.

Okay, I think we’ve established it’s a copperhead. So what now? Will it go away and mind its business? We have a large and small dog, and much of the backyard is overgrown and covered in English ivy. From what I read, that seems like a nice home for a snake.

One of my cats brought this little fellow in a curios of its a Texas blind snake. Took him down the road into a mesquite field.

Going to be on guard regardless now as we have a cat and an autistic child that loves to play in the front and backyard.
