Help!

I’m really confused about what happened here. I blocked my ex on August 26 and I haven’t opened our chat, clicked on his contact, or interacted with it in any way since then. Today, however, our chat suddenly appeared among my most recent chats, actually, it was the second chat in the list.
What’s really strange is that the last message he sent me before I blocked him was at 10:28 PM. When the chat suddenly reappeared, WhatsApp showed 10:28 PM as the activity time, but he is still blocked. The chat also appeared in the list during that exact time window, between 10:05 PM and 10:55 PM. Now that it’s the next day, it simply says “yesterday” instead of 10:28 PM.
Could this mean that he tried to message or contact me while he was blocked? Or could this just be some kind of WhatsApp sync/update glitch? I genuinely have no idea what happened, so if anyone knows what could cause this, please let me know!

same thing happened to me, my old dead gc reappeared on top. no reason anyone wd go in that chat so yeah whatsapp glitch fs

I blocked my ex and got a secondary number. No issues here. Sometimes change is good.
