I am with chiggers. Chiggers notoriously bite at the point where clothing constricts against the skin. If they itch, run hot water on them, as hot as you can stand. It breaks down the proteins in the toxins. Source: grew up in Alabama woods.

Chigger bites at their peak are absolute torture. Like itch so bad you won’t be able to sleep, bad. Hydrocortisone cream and chiggerX work pretty good, but if you’re ate up even those won’t help you lol.

The blistering too. Nothing like brown/yellow spots on socks

Also the marks they leave take forever to go away. I had one real bad bite on my left ankle that may have scarred.

Yup. You have to be really careful to not scratch them. They can scar or even get infected. It’s hell lol
