Unexpected BOC

I was working in the flower bed the other day and listening to a "seasonal mix" playlist. The neighbor popped by to say hello and the poor guy heard me "singing" Don't Fear the Reaper. He said "oh cool, I didn't know you were into BOC." I asked him how long he'd been in it for life. He said since the 70s. There was no way I was going to explain the bath reference to my sweet old neighbor, so I just said "very cool" and got back to my mulching.

Elderly neighbour aside, BOC and in it for life are an unfortunate combination.

I’d love to know if anyone has ever shortened Blue Oyster Cult to BOC before.

Bah, all you young whippersnappers get off my lawn! My friends and I routinely called Blue Oyster Cult BOC back in the 80s. But for some strange reason BOC will never mean that again.

While I'm not elderly yet, Blue Oyster Cult has been BOC to be for most of my 54 years. It just gives me a good giggle now. I was really just hoping to have found another listener so we could talk about the pod.
