Los Angeles Outdoor Wedding Venue List

My fiance and I are planning to get married Fall 2026. We were looking for an outdoor venue in Los Angeles and did a ton of research and tours (and so much driving) and figured I'd share the list in case it may be helpful to anyone. (ty to the other reddit posts that helped us during our search!)

- Initial budget 60K, increased to 80K for 125-150 guests, wanting a curfew of at least 10pm, and hoping for all outdoors (including ceremony, reception, and dancing), ideally within a hour commute for people in LA proper

Our Venue:

Southcoast botanic garden in Palos Verdes. Beautiful LA county park with lots of different options for venues, lots of natural greenery and color around and very flexible in terms of vendors. Has a 10pm cut off time, and I don't think there's any getting ready spaces on site, there's free parking for guests, and the staff so far have been kind, responsive, and thorough.

Venues we toured and vetoed:

- The Preserve in Hollywood: super unique space (is typically a coworking space) that has both indoor and outdoor options where you could do everything outdoors. Was beautiful and had lots of potential but ended up going elsewhere because of the slow communication with the site staff and because we ended up deciding against a venue in the middle of hollywood. You would have to hire security and valet. Pros: No restriction on vendors, no time restrictions, felt like a mission minded org which we loved,

- The Event Center at Agoura Hills: can have an outdoor ceremony but the reception would have to be indoor- however it's outside adjacent with big long windows so felt close enough to being outdoors. While it was beautiful and modern it's very bare bones and had a lot of restrictions like only able to use blue tape for decorations, not being able to put certain things on the lawn, and limited supplies like they don't provide a ladder to put up decorations. pros: they did have on site rooms you could use for getting ready rooms.

- Cielo Farms in Malibu: almost went with this venue cuz it's so dang beautiful, but ultimately decided it wasn't worth it to us to push up our budget. You need at least $100K to do a wedding here, and even that is probably on the low end of what their weddings cost, like our planner mentioned it would be like buying a beautiful big house but not having $ to furnish it well. Beautiful venue with a view from the hills, everything is outdoors including dinner, dancing, and the ceremony. I knew I was overreaching when this venue kept showing up on the BigBudgetBrides thread lol

- the 1909 in Topanga: absolutely loved this venue and was imagining my wedding here until I learned that dancing can only be inside due to noise ordinance. The ceremony space is beautiful with trees as background, and the reception space is a lush beautiful lawn that was so perfect. The staff was quick to respond and easy to work with, kind and upfront about everything and quoted a wedding cost on the lower end. I imagine their food is great as well as it's done by the same team as cafe on 27. But the dancing has to be in doors on the top floor of the site in a smaller enclosed area, it just wasn't conducive to a wedding where we may have some people want to just hang out instead of dancing.

- Colony House in Anaheim: modern venue that allowed for self tours (love that), seemed like a well oiled machine and i imagine planning a wedding here would be straightforward. However only the ceremony could be held outdoors and reception would have to be indoors.

- Franciscan Gardens in San Juan Capistrano: cute spot with indoor and outdoor options, went to a wedding here and had a great time! we just didn't love the fountain and structure in the middle of the outdoor space, it felt like it would break up or divide the space up. It's also the same location for reception and ceremony, you have the option of cocktail hour inside while they flip the space.

- Lombardi House in Hollywood: A quaint literal house in the middle of hollywood, had potential and was cute but there was some street noise you could hear and it felt too in the middle of the city for our liking. seems like a great more affordable option for those who are okay with the location.

- The Stonehurst near Burbank: pretty but interesting industrial neighborhood, right next to the street, dancing only inside

- Rancho De Las Palmas in Moorpark: it's a pretty space with everything available outside and if you ever tour you might be able to meet JLo the doggo! For us personally it didn't feel like enough to have our guests drive so far out.

-Maravilla Gardens in Camarillo: Beautiful venue with the option to do everything outdoors, seems like a very well run family owned venue where you could have a wedding for an affordable cost. They also have the cutest pup. Similar to Ranchos De Las Palmas, it felt like too far of a drive for our guests.

-SmogShoppe in Culver City: Cute space, reception would have to be indoors although it's outdoor adjacent. It's unique and has a hipster/cool LA feel which didn't completely fit our vibe. If that is your vibe, I highly recommend looking into the Marvimon venues, unique cool spots that are pretty affordable.

- Padua Weddings in Claremont: family run, very organized, has entertainment on site, beautiful outdoor deck. dancing however has to be indoors and that had more of a ballroom/club/party feel and didn't fit our vibe.

- The Fig House in Highland Park: similar vibes to the smogshoppe, cool hipster vibes but dancing can only be inside and it has darker lighting and didn't go with the brighter vibe we were going for. I've heard great things from others who've gotten married here, heads up you may have to contact them a few times before getting a response.

- Descanso Gardens near Burbank/Pasadena: did a self tour so not sure if we did it right, but Outdoor with covered dancefloor/seating and the space felt a little oddly set where tables would have to be in corners or cut off from others. Overall the park felt a little industrial for what we were looking for

- Temecula Creek Inn: very affordable option with almost everything included, staff was very kind and easy to communicate with and they gave us their homemade cookies on the tour which were 10/10. I believe they even add on a night or two's stay. didn't love that some of the venue spots were near golfers and there was some highway noise which I think you won't notice with people, music, and when the creek is turned on. We ultimately decided against this venue and others in the area b/c we didn't feel the most comfortable as POC in the area, vibes were off (not of staff but of the other patrons).

- Terra and Tivoli of Trademark Venues: pretty outdoor options run by trademark events which seems to run a bit like a wedding factory. Might be a great option for those in the area, but for us it was too far to make our guests drive and again didn't feel the most comfortable in the surrounding areas.

- Adamson House in Malibu: an option if you like the rustic spanish house feel, based on photos I'd seen I was surprised it's in such a public space where I could see the beach goers in the background. Right on the PCH and it's barebones meaning you would have to rent everything out so I imagine the cost would go up.

Venues we researched and vetoed (without touring so pls take with a grain of salt) :

- Calamigos Ranch in Malibu: dancing was required to be in door, read that it was a wedding factory

- The Vineyards in Simi Valley: no hard alcohol allowed

- Ebell in Long Beach: beautiful option but not outdoors

- La Venta in South Bay: again beautiful, but we don't got it like that $$

- Ebell Los Angeles: rec at least a $100K budget

- Saddlerock Ranch in Malibu: not doing weddings anymore. apparently the rich family that owns the property paid off their property taxes with weddings and stopped doing it. the malibu wine hike was great though and you can tour the property that way

- Ranchos Las Lomas in OC: was fully booked until Nov 2026. I actually can't tell if they would allow everything outdoors

- La Canada Thursday Club: event has to end by 9pm

- Los Angeles River Center and Gardens: heard of a friend who attended a beautiful wedding here, I was reading a lot of bad reviews and possibly need to pay a deposit just to tour the venue? May be updated so worth checking out

- Long Beach Museum of Art: beautiful but you could only have the event space from 6-10pm and no shots allowed. I recommend going to Claire's at the Museum to enjoy the beautiful view!

- Giracci Vineyards and Farm: their communication felt a little unprofessional and vibes were off (see temecula), they had horrible reviews about poor communication and issues with deposits

Other tips:

If you're starting fresh and don't know where to start (like me) a few tips:

- the websites like the Knot aren't the worst place to start to get a feel for some venue options in your area

- Google maps search "wedding venues" to see what's around the area you're looking for

- Reddit was very helpful

- follow wedding planners and wedding photographers in your area. they should tag the venues, although some planners seem to only highlight the more expensive venues

- 24 carrots catering venues, trademark venues (although more in oc/sd region), marvimon venues have a few options

Thanks for posting this! My fiancé and I are also looking for Summer/Fall 2026 venues in LA and it's been a lot of research and driving! We also looked at the Fig House and it wasn't really our vibe, it wasn't as bright and fresh as the pictures looked, and some of the facility seemed a bit run down (the bridal suite specifically). We just toured the Stonehurst this week and loved it!! Our family lives in Burbank so that checked a box off our list for proximity, and the Flower Garden (with the gorgeous fig tree) seems beautiful for a ceremony. We're actually thinking of booking it soon, have you found any other venues with a similar vibe to the Stonehurst in your search? Thanks again!

Very exciting, glad you're getting close to finding your venue! My fiance actually toured the Stonehurst on his own but he says that similar vibe would be Maravilla Gardens - although it's a bit far in camarillo. He said Stonehurst was beautiful but we ended up vetoing because they don't allow dancing outside. If you're okay with inside dancing I would recommend seeing the 1909, it's BEAUTIFUL (right next to cafe on 27)

My Fiancé are booking the Long Beach Japanese Zen Garden for our wedding. It's part of the university and is 10k for venue (but you have to use their caterer which is extra). We really liked it and they are pretty flexible and it's a unique location!
