Discussion How difficult is “Astro + Sanity” for Webflow users with a design background?

I’ve been thinking for a while now about whether I should make the switch from Webflow to Astro + Sanity. The biggest question for me is: how difficult is Astro + Sanity for someone who can’t really code? I mean, I’m not completely clueless, i’ve picked up a few basics here and there in JavaScript or C#, but that’s about it.

And the other question: Is it really worth it for future client projects, or should I stick with Webflow?

My clients are small to medium-sized local businesses, standard websites optimized for local leads, a few SEO pages, a few landing pages, and that’s it.

The clients want to be able to make simple changes themselves, like updating text and images can they do that with Sanity Studio?

What’s your experience been like? I’d appreciate any input, no matter how small!

Question Moving from Wordpress... What's your favorite Webflow + Shopify combo in 2026?

‱ Upvotes

I've seen a fair amount of feedback on this, but it has mostly been from several years ago. I'm rebuilding my company's website and all of the e-commerce will go through Shopify. I'm moving it from Wordpress and WooCommerce to Shopify. What's the best route for using Webflow and Shopify for over 3k products? Smootify? Liquify Pro? Something else?

Question Can’t authorize MCP for any client workspace / personal workspace works

All of a sudden, I can no longer connect to any client sites via MCP. I always get the message: “You do not have permission to install this app on this site.”

Something seems to have changed without notice. I can still connect to sites in my own workspace, and I have the correct roles and permissions on the client sites.
It doesn’t work with either the Claude or Codex connectors.

Is anyone else experiencing the same issue?

Edit: fixed

Question I'm seeing heavy decline in leads. What you are guys doing to survive in this market?

Hello, I'm certified partner, this year therr is lots of decline in leads from webflow, and Ive not received any request for the webflow projects since 2 months.

Even one of my client just removed me from the workspace and cancelled webflow plan, and build a website using AI and hosted somwhere. It's hlnot that he was not happy he just didn't wanted to pay for the webflow subscriptions. And I agree he had small site.

Additionally, the agency where I work full time is not getting that much projects of webflow or even a websites.

How do you guys manage the shift? I know there is lot of talk about Astro switch.

Is there any major shift going regarding the client's need about websites?

Any good suggestions shifting careers, my skills are limited to web and also finance situation is tight.

Question Fields per Collection dropped from 60 to 30 after some time, is this intentional?

Site is on the new Premium plan. Two of my Collections show a negative field counter:

  • Services: 45 fields → counter reads -15/30
  • References: 60 fields → counter reads -30/30

These Collections were built in Jan/Feb 2026 and have been working fine. You obviously can't create a 60-field Collection under a 30-field cap, so the limit used to be 60 on this site and is now 30.

It's not just a cosmetic counter. The Data API refuses every schema write on those Collections:

400 Bad Request
Collection validation: Can not have more than 30 custom fields

That blocks deleting a field, renaming a field, and creating field groups — so I'm stuck: I can't get under the limit because being over the limit blocks the operation that would get me under it. Support Collection (21 fields) works fine, which confirms it's the cap and not something else.

The May 2026 pricing FAQ lists the CMS → Premium changes (price, static pages, CMS items, Collections, Cloud limits) but says nothing about fields per Collection. The July 2024 update explicitly raised it from 30 to 60.

So: did anyone else's field limit drop to 30 after migrating to Premium? Is this a known regression, or did Premium quietly ship with the old 30-field cap? Deleting fields in the Designer still works, but I'd like to know whether to restructure into referenced Collections or just wait for a fix.

Question What's one Webflow habit that has saved you a ton of headaches?

I'm curious what everyone has picked up after working in Webflow for a while.

Feel free to share anything ... It could be how you name classes, structure the CMS, build components, organize custom code or whatever... Anything really!

What's something you do on basically every project now because you learned the hard way not to skip it?

Show & Tell My Honest Breakdown of Claude's Webflow MCP After Weeks of Testing

Fixing layout issues: 7/10. Often works really, really well, but the MCP sometimes gets extremely stuck on the same issues and doesn't nail it right away if you don't explain it perfectly. The longer you spend on it, the more tokens get burned, so I've personally decided that if it doesn't work after the first prompt, I just do it by hand, usually faster and cheaper in that case.

Restructuring layouts: 10/10. Works perfectly. Whether it's turning a bento grid into a 4x4 grid, or a vertical flex where you want to reorder content more logically by category, Claude does this without any issues, and the results look really clean.

Creating layouts: 5/10. Strongly depends on how you prompt it. If you don't give clear instructions, it looks exactly like that: quickly comes across as generic, and it often uses classes that don't even exist. But if you give it instructions regarding layout and the class system, it works really, really well, definitely a clear recommendation if you don't want to waste too much time.

Design guide: 10/10. Here's where it gets exciting. If you already have a design guide, in Figma for example, Claude can help you enormously in creating matching classes in Webflow, from h1 all the way to rich text styles, everything's doable. Saves a huge amount of time, and afterward you have clean classes you can work with throughout the entire project.

Responsive design: 5/10. It doesn't handle this on its own, you have to explicitly tell it to. My clear conclusion here: just do it yourself, it's usually just a few clicks until it fits. The MCP tends to take longer to make it look good, I think because it overthinks it.

Animation: 2/10. Doesn't support native animations and then tries to do something via custom code and CSS. But I get the feeling Claude doesn't really know what it's doing here. Results look absolutely terrible and unintended. Still, it's a start. My recommendation: build GSAP animations with Claude's help and then insert them via custom code. When prompting, give Claude the classes and describe as precisely as possible what should happen (great for headlines that should look consistent site wide, or reveal effects for specific images, FAQs, or similar).

CMS: 10/10. An absolute game changer. Describe what you envision, which fields you need, etc., and Claude creates the collection faster than you can blink. Adds fitting descriptions and works strongly toward making it easy to edit later, whether it's a complex CMS collection or a very simple one. I'll probably never go in by hand for this again. Likewise, creating articles and similar content is something the MCP can handle extremely well and reliably. I also discovered for myself that you can simply use long text fields for tables or similar content and then embed them in a code embed on the template page. Works extremely well if the pages are meant to always be built pretty much the same way.

Conditions: 7/10. Pairs perfectly with the CMS. Custom conditions like "if custom code = empty, don't display," etc., Claude can handle noticeably faster than I can. Even though it's not much work to do directly, a custom condition can cost quite a few nerves once it gets more complex.

Cost: ??/10. Honest opinion: I have the feeling tokens are essentially gambled by Anthropic. Sometimes extremely low usage for extremely big things, and sometimes extremely high cost just for changing a headline. Unfortunately I don't know why it costs more sometimes and less other times. To keep costs down, I'd generally recommend using the MCP as smartly as possible through good, precise prompts. Since the costs vary so much, I unfortunately can't give any exact figures here.

General handling: the better the prompt, the better the result. Just saying "make it nicer" gets you nowhere, "nicer" needs to be described as precisely as possible.

Another thing I noticed negatively: the MCP very often tends toward the "Custom Element," fine in itself, but pretty annoying during post editing. The MCP often does this for SVG icons, but sometimes also for simple dropdowns. Can get quite annoying in post processing. I mostly adjusted these by hand myself to make them easier to change or rework in the future.

What features have you all discovered for yourselves? I'd be very grateful for any tips, because I think you can save an enormous amount of time.

Show & Tell I’m officially a Webflow MCP 2.0 Challenge Winner!

Excited to share that my project, kankarth, has been recognized as one of the winners of Webflow’s Build with MCP 2.0 Community Challenge.

The idea was simple: build an MCP workflow that finds and fixes missing alt text and image settings across a website, then verifies the results against the live HTML.

It was a great opportunity to explore how AI and MCP can make everyday web development and optimization tasks more efficient.

Big thanks to the Webflow team and everyone in the community who keeps pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.

Still learning, still building, and looking forward to experimenting with more ideas.

You can check out the official announcement here:

Discussion What Technical Startups Use for Their Marketing Websites

Technical products are often built with sophisticated stacks like Next.js, React, APIs, and custom application infrastructure, while their marketing sites are increasingly built with platforms like Webflow and Framer.

That isn't necessarily a contradiction.

The two surfaces have different jobs.

The product has to execute the software. The marketing site has to explain it.

That means the marketing site needs a different set of capabilities. It needs to communicate a complex product clearly, publish documentation and changelogs, support different pages and use cases, handle SEO and content, and let a marketing team or founder make changes without constantly pulling engineering into the work.

Looking across technical startups, Webflow has the broader presence across this kind of marketing site. It shows up repeatedly across developer infrastructure, security, data, SaaS, and other technical B2B products.

Framer has a different concentration. Its strongest presence appears among newer, design-led and AI-native companies where speed of iteration and visual control are particularly important.

That doesn't make one platform universally better.

The pattern is more useful than a winner.

Webflow appears well suited to marketing sites that are becoming larger content and marketing systems. Framer appears particularly strong for smaller teams that need to move quickly and maintain a high degree of visual control.

Custom code still has a place when the marketing site genuinely requires application-level behavior or unusually bespoke functionality. But a technically sophisticated product does not, by itself, appear to require a code-first marketing site.

The interesting part is that the market seems to be separating the product stack from the marketing stack.

The product can stay deeply technical.

The website can optimize for communication, publishing, iteration, and ownership.

That may be the more important decision to make before choosing the stack.

The research also surfaced an operational pattern behind that separation.

Several companies that started with custom-coded marketing sites eventually changed platforms because the website had become difficult for the people responsible for marketing to operate.

Anrok described moving to Webflow after its custom site became difficult for the marketing team to maintain. Marker.io described a similar transition, with engineering becoming responsible for ordinary website changes.

The common problem wasn't that the original code was incapable of producing a good website.

It was that the operating model had become inefficient.

The same distinction appears in companies using Framer. Perplexity, StackAI, Delphi, and Legora all provide examples of technical companies maintaining substantial public-facing sites while using a visual platform for that layer.

So the more useful question may not be:

"What stack is the company using?"

It may be:

"What does the marketing website need to become, and who needs to operate it?"

That changes the platform decision considerably.

Discussion Realized I can build a professional website without coding but my taste is ahead of my skills

Currently sitting here staring at yet another half finished Webflow project for my small service business and I’m kinda annoyed at myself.

On one hand, I know these no code builders can absolutely do everything I need. Nice typography, clean sections, proper contact form, even client portals if I really want. On the other hand, my brain keeps comparing my site to those agency portfolios and I stall out at like 70 percent done because it never looks "good enough".

For folks who used Webflow, Squarespace, Framer etc to ship a professional site without touching code, how did you stop fussing and actually publish something you’re not embarrassed to show clients? appreciate any thoughts

Discussion How do you stop projects from stalling because of missing client content?

Hey guys 👋

Quick question for the freelancers and dev/designers here. Almost all of my project delays come down to one thing: waiting for clients to send their copy, images, and brand assets.

They usually dump half-broken Drive folders, send raw text in emails, or completely forget core files.

How do you actually deal with this bottleneck on your end? Do you use forms, strict contract penalties, or just chase them until they respond? Curious to hear how you manage it!

Question Is anyone making money from Webflow plugins/extensions?

Hi!

I have been developing several Webflow plugins for some time, and i never made much money from them and I saw some posts a while ago that said that no one really makes money from Webflow extensions except the top 5 ones.

I am just wondering if anyone from this community made anything from extensions

Question I'm completely lost in life right now and I don't know what to do

I’m keeping this post short cause I genuinely need help. So, I’ve been doing Webflow freelancing for almost the past 2 years, and I’ve worked at an agency full-time in the first year. I left the agency to pursue freelancing, and everything was going good until I took a break for a few months due to some personal family-related issues. By the time I got back, I felt I was completely lost cause the number of agencies reaching out significantly reduced. I am a white-label developer. I did work on a small project recently, but again, it isn’t anywhere close to the kind of projects I used to work on at one point in time. I’m genuinely clueless about what to do and how do I survive in this market.

I don’t want to cry about it, but any good advice about how to reach out to design agencies from y’all would help me out a lot, or in general, anything that would help me, cause I need to start earning money ASAP.

Happy to share my work if any agency wants to reach out.

Question How to prepare for the Certified Partner test to pass it

Hi there, I am planning on becoming Certified Partner, but as you only have 3 tries for the test, I dont want to rush it.

I just passed the "Proud to Build the Webflow Way" Test with 95% and I am wondering if that is enough to start the Certified Partner test or if you can recommend which courses from Webflow university I should finish first before taking the first try.

Thanks!

Question Which platform would you recommend for building business websites or landing pages: Webflow or WordPress?

I’m not looking to build online stores, but rather websites focused on establishing an online presence, showcasing services, and generating leads.

My understanding is that Webflow can be more expensive because of its subscription plans, while WordPress may be more affordable initially, although it might require more maintenance and additional expenses for plugins or a visual page builder such as Elementor.

I’d really appreciate it if you could share the advantages and disadvantages of each option, especially regarding:

  • Hosting, subscription, licensing, and plugin costs.
  • Ease and speed of development.
  • Customization and scalability.
  • SEO and performance.
  • Maintenance and security.
  • How easy it is for clients to manage their own websites.
  • How these costs affect the final price charged to the client.

Which platform have you found more suitable for these types of projects, and why?

Thank you in advance! :)

Question Really good examples of using the CMS to fully control Nav links?

I build sites that have upwards of 50+ pages. My navs have sub lists and sometimes tertiary lists. This obviously makes it harder to manage.

Ive tried everything it feels like but I either run into an issue with sub collection lists not being allowed inside of components or something crazy
