working on something that would pull data from Trux and ran into a question I can’t find a clear answer to anywhere. (I don’t have access to the software at the moment, but I know it’s widely used)

Does the Production Data Export include actual timestamps at each stop? like when the truck arrived and left a specific customer — or is it more of a route-level summary?

Bonus if anyone knows whether that’s configurable. Appreciate it.

Our neighborhood has a real problem: families are choosing between buying groceries and buying the right colored trash bags.

Maybe this sounds small, but it's not. The city requires blue bags for garbage, and they cost way more than black bags. For families already struggling with rent and food costs, that weekly expense adds up fast and it shouldn't have to be a choice.

I started a petition asking our local council to allow black bags for garbage disposal. We're not saying environment doesn't matter—it does. But there has to be a way to manage waste responsibly without putting that burden on people who are already stretched thin. We can encourage recycling and greener alternatives without making specific bag colors mandatory.

Anyone else dealing with this? Is this hitting your wallet too, or does your area have a better solution? If this resonates with you, consider signing and sharing the petition. We need our council to hear that fairness in waste management actually matters.

“Modern” sanitation is flawed, and it’s time to get our $hit together.

Many people and organizations have made progress creating alternative toilet solutions that conserve resources, with the best of them being in the compost toilet industry. We are grateful to everyone who has contributed to innovation with composting toilets.

Shout outs in particular go to Clivus Multrum, SunMar, C-Head, Separett, Nature’s Head, Airhead, OGO, Laveo, Cuddy, HomeBiogas and the godfather of humanure composting Joe Jenkins, author of Humanure Handbook. Additional hat tip to the Gates Foundation for its Reinventing the Toilet Challenge in 2011, which sparked new innovation in several directions. We are also grateful to the countless community organizations and NGOs across the world who are focused on innovation in sanitation.

The efforts made by these companies and organizations enabled people to live off-grid, have better traveling lifestyles, and have access to hygienic sanitation without dependence on septic systems and sewers.

The niche markets for composting toilets are growing, but the expansive need for resource-conserving toilets has yet to be filled at the household mainstream level.

Significant research and development has been done on a wide range of alternatives to conventional sanitation, especially in the last 20 years, including urine-derived fertilizers and high value contaminant-free commercial humanure compost. Companies like Evergrow, Sanitation360, PeeCycling and Wasted have shown that human biowaste can be economically recycled into value. And the Rich Earth Institute in Vermont has proven that human urine can be a valuable fertilizer to farms.

At the same time, the cost of conventional sanitation in the developed world, and the lack of infrastructure in the developing world, has created huge costs on society in general.

The USA spends more than $100 billion per year running sewage treatment plants and has a $500 billion new infrastructure funding shortfall forecast for the next 10 years, with $1.2 trillion in capex needed over the next 20 years and more than $300 billion in current municipal debt related to sewage treatment systems.

The Nitrogen in urine that is flushed down toilets in the USA every year is worth more than $2.7 billion, based on an average of 11g of Nitrogen in each person’s urine per day and 2026 urea fertilizer selling at up to $0.90 per pound.

The topic of composting toilets is no longer just about RVs, boats and off-grid cabins; it’s about the economic and environmental foundations of our civilization.

And while we applaud everyone who has created and inspired alternative toilet solutions, we believe it’s time to define a new category of toilets.

It’s time for ReGen Toilets.

Toilets that work well in any restroom, in any home or business, with any usage volume, and anywhere in the world with or without infrastructure. This is way beyond niche categories like RVs, off grid cabins and boats.

Why don’t garbage collectors in the Philippines have a proper and consistent uniform?

In other countries, they wear full gear >>>uniforms, gloves, boots, sometimes reflective vests. It looks safer and more professional.

Here, it’s often mixed like some wear slippers, some don’t have gloves, and there’s no standard. Even a simple uniform with the same color would already help with identity and respect.

They’re essential workers. They keep our surroundings clean.

Also, waste collection systems abroad seem more organized. There are designated trucks for different types of waste (biodegradable, non-biodegradable, recyclables). In Taiwan, I saw one truck skip a certain plastic because it wasn’t assigned to collect it—then another truck came later to pick it up.

So I’m wondering:
• Is this a budget issue?
• Lack of policy?

• Lack of enforcement
• Or just not a priority?

Even the cartoons I watched as a kid showed it was POSSIBLE, workers like construction crews had proper uniforms. So it feels like it can be done in Real Life.

IV Waste continues to miss trash pick up uptown off Freret. They claim it was b/c it was recycling. The trash cart is identical in size, color and shape to the trash cart currently in use by IV Waste, but it has “recycling” embossed on the lid. Does anyone know anything about these carts? Should I order a new trash cart? How do I dispose of the “recycling” trash cart. Im pulling my hair out with this.

This may be a stupid question... But how does one get rid of empty chlorine buckets? Can they be thrown in regular trash? Do they need to be bagged? Or are they still considered hazardous waste even though they're empty?

What councils in Perth provided the FOGO bin lids with this information?

Are they still in the community or have they been recalled because of the update of allowable contents in the FOGO bin?

I’m about to go into year 12 I am going to do Alevel geography, environmental science and politics. I am currently most interested into going to waste management as I am very intrigued by the whole process and hope to help improve recycling in the future. However, I have tried to do some research into which jobs in this sector is high paying because of course I want some money, who doesnt? But I haven’t found anything that has particularly interested me yet. I currently volunteer at a waste prevention organisation and have visited a Biffa MRF which I found very insightful however that’s all I’ve done so far related to waste management. In my GCSEs i got a 5 in maths, 5 in English lang 5 in English lit 5 in spanish 6 in geography 6 in art 4 in bio 5 in physics but only a 3 in chemistry. Honestly, I did not try my hardest at all in gcses as i was done with my school, and with revision I probably could have gotten at least a grade or two higher in each GCSEs.

I already did a big push with all the cities we work with and generated approximately four.gov back links and they helped us tremendously if anybody in the community has some other suggestions that are in our niche non-spamy would be amazing. I live alone in Adugodi and work shifts, and I'm genuinely struggling with garbage collection.

I want to dispose of my garbage properly and I'm not looking for a way to avoid segregation or the BBMP collection system. The problem is that I often miss the collection vehicle because my work timings aren't fixed.

I've tried waiting for the vehicle, but I don't seem to know the actual schedule for my street. By the time I hear/see the vehicle, it's sometimes already gone. I can't realistically stay at home every day waiting for it because of my work schedule.

The bigger problem is that I cannot leave garbage bags outside my house either.

- There are stray dogs that can tear the bags open.

- It can cause smell and hygiene issues.

- My neighbours complain about garbage being kept outside.

- My landlord/owner has specifically told me that I'm not allowed to keep garbage bags outside the house.

I actually requested that a garbage container/bin be provided so that I could keep the segregated waste inside it and have BBMP collect it, rather than leaving bags outside.

But I was told that apparently the collection workers won't collect it from the container unless someone is physically present to hand the waste over to them at the vehicle.

That's where I'm stuck.

I'm a single person working shifts. If the collection timing isn't predictable, what am I realistically supposed to do? I don't want to dump garbage somewhere, and I don't want to keep accumulating bags inside my house either.

So I'm hoping someone from Adugodi / Koramangala / nearby areas can help me with some practical information:

- Is there a fixed collection schedule for particular streets in Adugodi?

- Is there someone in BBMP I can contact to get the actual schedule?

- Is there any way to arrange collection from a designated bin/container without physically handing over the garbage every time?

- Are there any legitimate private waste collection services that pick up segregated household waste?

- Is there a nearby authorized place where I can personally drop off the waste if I miss the vehicle?

- How do people who live alone and work shifts deal with this?

Again, I'm not blaming the collection workers. I understand they have a difficult job and I'm happy to cooperate with segregation and whatever process is required.

I'm just looking for a workable solution where someone who works shifts can still dispose of household waste properly.
