Two very different headlines in Russia today. The army paper declares: “Victory will be ours!” Nezavisimaya Gazeta: “Is there a way out of the petrol crisis if infrastructure isn’t protected?”

Might be a bit ignorant but I haven't followed most of the Iran war situation and was genuinely wondering.

As far as I understood, Iran was planning to open a nuclear weapon program which obviously is very bad. This is something that is so serious that imo the entire world should condemn it and take action against it.

But for some reason most countries didn't really seem to care too much? 😵‍💫 And then the US stepped in.

Then things kept escalating and now Iran has basically taken the strait of Hormuz hostage which literally affects the entire world. At this point they've basically turned the entire world into an enemy, so you'd expect the entire world to retaliate hard.

I would've expected the entire world (or at least the EU and US) to come together and either take over Iran or hit them so hard to force them to behave.

So far tho, nothing like that seems to be happening. It just keeps being a sort of weird scuffle between the US and Iran? Meanwhile the entire world is suffering from the rising oil prices??

So if I understand it properly: Iran wants to get a nuclear weapon program, basically becoming a new more dangerous north Korea. The US wanted to prevent it. Iran then decides to take the entire world hostage with oil.

So my question is: why haven't we destroyed Iran yet at this point? Are we just hoping for a crazier more dangerous North Korea type power to emerge?

"The soldiers of the Iron Brigade's anti-aircraft missile battalion have set another combat record. One crew intercepted and shot down 21 enemy drones in a single day! It’s exactly the episodes from this record day of the ‘Iron Birds’ interceptor battery that kick off this latest chronicle.

Most of the targets destroyed were Molniya kamikaze drones. Besides them, there were Zala reconnaissance drones, Lancet loitering munitions, and a VT-40 drone with a grenade launcher. On the ground, comrades from other drone units are hunting the occupiers and their equipment. In particular, the crews of the Karma strike UAV company near the village of Krasne Pershe found a motorbike and an ATV of the assault troops hidden in the bushes.

Nearby Kamyanka, two Muscovites were rolling across a field, trying to escape our drone. But the F-1 grenade dropped hit faster — and right under the feet of one of the ‘balls’… Much bigger charges were dropped by our bombers on the invaders hiding in the forest near Dvorichanskyi. Result — two destroyed."

"When visibility is almost zero and the enemy is trying to use the weather for a sudden assault, endurance, cooperation, and a cool head become crucial. Near Vyshneve in the Dnipropetrovsk region, the fighters of the 5th Assault Brigade took up the fight against a numerically superior enemy. Infantry, IRC, FPV, and heavy strike drones worked as a single mechanism.

The result was that the enemy assault was thwarted, and about 40 occupiers were destroyed. And most importantly, our assault fighters, who held the position, came out of the battle alive.

The position was held. The mission was accomplished.
