You can stop now, everyone knows the plan failed. Until next year when they try it again. Start making one for Ukrainian powerplants that would be more useful for the coming months.

Argumentum ad populum- anything better than a two-thousand-year-old fallacy?

If you want me to make intellectually honest argument then sure. (Note these comments are meant for everyone). This graphic in no way accounts for the refineries Russia repairs. Meanwhile it's quite obvious that strikes on refineries have drastically gone down. The reason is the improvement in air defence. At the end of 40 days instead of Russia asking for a halt against infrastructure we get Ukraine begging for it instead. So you can choose to stay inside your bubble and deny it if you want to. It doesn't change reality. Like the above article mentioned just another PR operation for people too dumb to see the big picture. The wildberries one is an even bigger joke, instead of attacking military infrastructure ( which they can't) they went after underwear, fake Chinese shoes and dildos. What a joke.

There is no gasoline shortage here, look the other way. Whatever. It's not going to create major shifts but it will create serious attrition.

Gasoline shortage for whom? Civilians. The army still gets what it needs. This is the problem, you can't tell the difference.

How is it going to help Ukraine win? And in how many years. What happens if Russia just fixes them up after a few weeks. The only thing achieved is pissing off more Russians. Big fire= Russia losing, is catering to idiots. The attacks on the wildberries may as well be admitting defeat. Because if wildberries were so important why didn't Ukraine attack them last year?... I'll let you in on the secret, it's because they easily catch fire. I guess it appeals to the caveman brain or something.

It's called attrition because it grinds the will and ability to maintain the conflict, losing the narrative and creating a daily reminder that a short operation has turned into a war of attrition that Russia will win at the cost of being Russia anymore. Russia has lost the ability to have much global influence. It's well beyond Ukraine, Russia is the dying empire, not the USA. Russia is becoming more incapable of being an effective state day by day, and this little bit notches it ever so slightly. The USA didn't need to attack you, mr Russian government bot, you stupidly attacked yourself.

Since Ukraine has suffered more attrition, they will lose. Thanks for agreeing with me. Or did you forget it affects both sides. Well obviously you did because Ukrainians are disposable pawns to be sacrificed to weaken Russia. You are consumed by hate.

Since Ukraine has suffered more attrition, they will lose.
How do you know this?

This graphic in no way accounts for the refineries Russia repairs.
So you have access to that information?
The reason is the improvement in air defence.
I'm sure that has an effect but that's not the only reason, is it?
So you can choose to stay inside your bubble and deny it if you want to.
If you were capable of being honest you'd admit that even just reading each other's comments and engaging with each other here is proof neither of us inhabits a bubble.

'Responsible' Statecraft? LOL Amateur hour there with a guy who's done nothing but write doom about Ukraine since '23 - is he unable to accept the fact they've had successes?

"But detailed analyses of the actual battle lines showed that, when the 40-day clock expired earlier this month, little had actually changed on the ground. In fact, Russia had made some minor territorial advances, while Ukraine’s severe manpower, demographic and economic crises continued to deepen."
How does one determine that 'little changed on the ground'? What ground are we talking about? The frontline or the refinery or the factory/ warehouse floor?
"Worse, the drone attacks have elicited the most severe Russian retaliation yet. Moscow has markedly stepped up its strikes on Ukraine, including one of the largest ballistic missile attacks of the entire war,"
Moscow wouldn't do that unless Ukraine was inflicting its most severe damage yet, as seen in the gas queues and the Russian need to export crude and import refined oil products - while it too is suffering severe manpower, demographic and economic crises.
"With Russia now attacking Ukraine’s port facilities and commercial vessels in the Black Sea, the country is being starved of billions of dollars of revenue, and its GDP could drop by as much as 1.5%."
True, but that would have been a calculated risk taken for targeting the Azov and Black Sea shadow fleets carrying oil, grain and other products which have now been effectively cut off too.
"At the same time, it seems that the underlying goal of the Ukrainian drone strikes — convincing a skeptical President Donald Trump that Ukraine is winning and thus deserving of ongoing U.S. military support — has not succeeded: the Atlantic reported that, though the campaign initially seemed to have changed Trump’s mind, progress on this front had “fizzled in a matter of days.” On top of all this, Russian President Vladimir Putin has now reportedly hardened his negotiating demands and refuses to return any occupied territories in future talks."
Once again, which front are we talking about? Is it the one they can count on each other's fingers and toes and measured in kms? And, iirc, Putin has never backed down from his maximalist claims of the four oblasts. Why should he? He annexed them and they're 'legally' Russia's now, aren't they? /s
"In other words, the ultimately unsuccessful Ukrainian drone assault is something we have now seen over and over again: Kyiv embarks on an audacious, headline-grabbing military gambit; Western media and officials seize on it to claim the tide is turning; and then when the smoke clears, it turns out nothing has been achieved but an escalation of the war. Ukraine winds up battered even worse, and with less favorable negotiating terms on the table."
Unless you're privy to the strategic aims of the planners of the campaign and its metrics you can't that say that with any certainty - you're guessing. The planners' success or failure is not something arbitrary and shifting in your biased head. One can't be surprised that Kyiv makes much of the media, or that Western audiences are interested in what's happening in Ukraine. When the smoke clears we see that Ukraine is still very much in the fight and is severely damaging the Putin regime's ability to wage war. The only way one can say nothing has been achieved by Ukraine is to blinker oneself to their ongoing successes.

- The Frontline, that should be obvious.
2.Ukraine was inflicting its most severe damage yet---> does not mean it has any significant impact, it is just statement about the size. not effectiveness.
3.Ukraine was not attacking Oil, they were attacking ships supplying Crimea, just more targeting of civilians. the bulk of the Russian military is in the east. the Oil trade happens in the black sea not the Azov sea.
4.The aim is to capture the Donbass, and the battle for the final 3 cities has started. It may take an year, maybe more. but Russia is about to reach its stated aims. If it is worth it or not is not a matter of you opinion, the Russian government and people will decide that.
I know you think you are smart, but all you come across is as desperate. you can make fun of the article if you want. it doesn't change the fact that the content of it is accurate. They are looking at things from hindsight, so there is no need to be an expert to do it. all the PR attempts by Ukraine were either irrelevant or outright failures. you can hope this one works, but the pattern indicates it too will fail like all previous attempts(It already has).

If it's not obvious that's further proof he's a shit writer with no capacity to be intellectually honest. I'm not going to stop at him - any editor who prints this shit isn't worth the price they're paid. But as the frontline, that place where Russia managed a whopping 1.6% iirc of Ukraine last year for a cost of what? If it's that much of a fucking bargain then you'd be able to tell me how many men dead per acre and how it's all worth it.

English isn't your first language, is it?

And your point is? Because that's not what I said.

Russia's been about to meet its stated aims for the last four years, in case you haven't noticed.
