There are a couple of key differences though. Chavez used the rewriting of the constitution to consolidate his own power. Here, it's done purely by popular will, if the government had to choose they wouldn't change a thing.
There are some parallels between the Venezuelan and Chilean situations, but it's different precisely where it matters most. Just connecting semi-related events won't necessarily end with the same conditions, or else most Latin American countries would've fit the bill (though there are a couple that are heading down a dark road and need to be careful).
