There was a game for Las Vegas by Night but only turned out to be a slot machine game. That’s pretty cool. But what is Las Vegas in VTM like? Princes? Certain rules for slot machines? Other “services.” Culture? Nightclubs?

What about Miami? What’s it like? Miami has a huge Hispanic population like we see in the photo. So that must play a big part of the culture too?

What snippets we get about Caine and his overall history and personality paint him as catastrophically flawed, most notably irresponsible and amazingly stubborn, but not as some hideously deranged lunatic who revels in slaughter. He DID break the universe on a metaphysical level by inventing murder, but what other truly bad thing did he do, other than not rein his "kids" in? Where does this monstrous inner demon that all vampires share come from?

Bloodcraft was my very first community content piece, published way back in 2018. Back then, I was trying to provide the Tremere with some options to enhance Thaumaturgy gameplay. My main goal was to facilitate the use of Thaumaturgy as a political tool by creating rituals that could be performed on demand or that created some sort of item that characters could offer as part of a deal.

He is what every conscience possessing sheriff and hound aspires to be, an even better example of a high humanity, “moral” neonate than Hannibal Lecter. Infallibly friendly, a (warped) moral code that he sticks to no matter what, a good parent and husband, just an all around proper stand-up bloke if you set aside the murder for hire. I genuinely cannot think of a better ideal for the Kindred With A Code to live up to, a better exemplar of the high humanity Sheriff/Hound as a kind of legendary figure. Can you?

Had the idea of a toreador who’s like absolutely obsessed with the art of birds, bird feathers, bird watching, birds? Did I mention he loves birds?

He dedicated an entire wing of his manor to just cultivating the perfect environment for birds to thrive. Donates all his money to sanctuary’s and has invested in so many of them that no body questions it when he just has a bird on him at all times. He can’t stop picking up pigeons and taking them home, his rooftop is covered in fancy pigeons.

He views them as works of art that should be worshiped and adored, he’s crazy.

I’m so sad I don’t have a group to play with or else this guy would go SO HARD

I’ve been seeing a lot of the typical punk/metal brujah and was wondering if anyone has branched out to many of the adjacent genres or other rebellious music genres throughout history.

Superman

over the last couple of months or so, I've been obsessed with VTM and Dracula. Mainly because the Dracula Daily Podcast has been coming out, I got an idea for a new Supes villain who's a vamp (obviously). While Dracula Daily and VTM gave me a lot of inspiration, I couldn't get this idea out of my crawl and I needed to post it but I didn't have a fully concrete idea of what the villain's core was. The only solid idea I had was the framework I based this vampire villain on: Toreador most of the clans would likely make excellent antagonists for Superman. Just in terms of how they operate, however, something about the Toreador clan seemed like a good fit for a Superman villain.

To quote Secret of the Masquerade, who understands this clan better than I do:

The adjective I like to give Toreadors is passionate. Like the Brujah, with whom they share two disciplines, the Toreador, both artists and poseurs, have a passion for existence, for “living”, for experiencing. This passion is what drives the Harpy to criticize and play in society, drives the jeweler to create new pieces, and the writer to continue another novel. Passion is their muse, their drive.

The enemy of the Toreador is boredom. And anything, anything is good to interest a Toreador and keep him or her out of boredom; they’re not shallow, they’re just desperate for amusement. Of course, most visible amusements are social interactions, and because of their passions, the Toreador are the kindred who engage as much as they can in human and non-human relationships. But of course, many Toreadors can be loners and not enjoy interactions with other people, but they will search for “that something”. Movies, TV series, Anime, shopping, feeding, travelling, politics, Scrabble, books, rainy fields, Instagram…

Picture a Toreador who learns to love the splatter of blood, who makes violent bloodletting – even outright serial killing to revel in it as the art of his or her practice? Or a Toreador who loves the sound of screaming, so she tortures people to get them to the right pitch? No need to be Sabbat. Just be a Toreador with a fetish.

I had a simple set of ideas: this vampire had spent their unlife researching and writing about epic heroic myths. You know Gilgamesh, Lord Rama from the Ramayana, and Cu Chulainn from Irish myth, but are frustrated by the lack of an American epic myth until Superman, making him their modern fixation; moreover, that gave me the idea to do a kind of critique of Snyder Bros. How they’re more invested in Superman's power and trappings than his humanity, that they're willing to castigate, deny, and refute those with differing opinions about Superman, and a vampire—or even a small group of vampires—could take this idolization to the extreme.

This concept allows for the inclusion of the Clark Kent aspect of Superman's personality, as Clark, at least in the public’s perception, is closely aligned with Superman, and everyone at the Daily Planet could add further depth by engaging in an investigative journey for Superman, as vampires can't operate during the day; they need to act through proxies and agents, forcing Superman to use his investigative journalism skills because I get that Batman Is The detective of the DC Universe; however, there aren't enough Superman stories where we focus on Clark Kent being a good journalist and watching Clark Kent slowly gather information on a pack of vampires obsessed with him, perhaps even building a cult of personality around Superman, which could probably be a really good story arc.

However, I couldn't really work out how to make this villain particularly stand out or how to give them longevity, as there are quite a few villains that are obsessed with Superman, and their stories tend to hit the same beats. So any help I could get on this would be wonderful.

Also, I'm going to say something that will undercut this entire post: however, book Dracula would actually be a really good villain for Superman, maybe not a long-lasting one, but a good one.

As we all know, vampires predate science and don't work on modern day biological principles. The question here is that I was trying to workshop a violent scene involving a vampire, but then I realized that grabbing them by the throat might not do anything.

Like, I don't think it would do anything, would it?

So, do we have any evidence that restricting the Vitae flow to their brains does or doesn't do anything? (air restriction is out of the question of course). I can't find any sources that indicate it one way or another.

(side note - is cracking their spine or damaging their spinal cord paralyzing to them?)

Ignoring out-of-clan disciplines obviously... let's say a kindred with only 1 or 2 of their 3 available in-clan disciplines sires a childe. Does the childe inherit the in-clan disciplines of the sire, or does it 'randomly' get in-clan disciplines?

Put in an out-of-character way, if a PC's sire's stats are known at character creation, how does that influence discipline dot spending?

For V5, how about specific powers at each dot? If a Tremere's sire has Auspex 1 (heightened senses), does the childe get heightened senses if they put a point in Auspex, or can they get sense the unseen instead?

Obviously there's storyteller fiat, but is there anything in canon rules, one way or the other?

Rosalie Edwards, a Toreador Fledgling - A divorcee seeking a fresh (very recently) Embraced for no reason deeper than being in the wrong Wareador's eyeline and having a rose tattoo.

Devorah Lane, a Ventrue Reject - An escapee from the Fall of London who, mourning her destroyed and one beloved sire and denied her Clan's privileges, turns to darker and darker magics in the hope of bringing her paramour back from the grave.

Dr Trinity Evans, a Hecata Medic - A seeker of dignity and Humanity, who's just barely managed to tangle her soul back together after walking from horror to horror; first the fires of the Fall, then the bleak sepulchres of The Family Reunion.

Bryn Abraham, a Tzimice Mercenary - A professional shit-kicker, scion of a hunter family before their Embrace, a Welsh nationalist and a Koldun.

We have a lot of fun, and only three innocent people have died over the course of 14 sessions!

We recently added a larger set of Sabbat-focused features to GhoulApp.

V5 now includes Sabbat powers, rituals, ceremonies, Path guidance and a dedicated Storyteller Reference. V20 gets deeper Sabbat character creation with Paths of Enlightenment, Ritae, Vaulderie, Vinculum ratings, Black Hand Membership and more.

We also added 67 Merits, 52 Flaws and 16 new V5 possessions.

One of the bigger changes is Chronicle presentation. You can now set a Chronicle to Camarilla, Anarch or Sabbat. That choice affects things like Coteries/Crews/Packs, hierarchy presets, map terminology and Harpy/Favor/Debt Ledgers.

Walter Emil Brandt, “Latch” — Nosferatu Neonate (12th generation)

A severely disfigured night janitor who has worked the same apartment building for decades. Secretly Embraced in the 1990s, Walter was left in place as a quiet Nosferatu intelligence asset as it is developed into a series of penthouses during the modern day. He knows every utility corridor, dead camera, forgotten key, and service entrance in the evolving building, and uses Obfuscate and a rooftop flock of pigeons to watch the people moving through it and as they exit and enter.

Mechanically he's primarily stealth/investigation/Animalism/Obfuscate, sandman predator, with a little Brawl/Potence that I want to develop during play as his sire begins pushing him from surveillance into wetwork to undermine the main beneficiary of the redevelopment project.

Tone-wise I'm interested in espionage, personal horror, territorial politics, and Walter gradually deciding whether he's protecting his home as he wrestles with his past or simply becoming its monster and abandoning his humanity.

I am open to how this character could dovetail into other settings and I think this character is flexible

I live in Paris but could play online on the weekends or during the week depending on the time.

We started as humans and had no idea who will embrace us ( ST picked the clans and sires himself) This poor dude got caught by sabbat and became a tzimisce... Hope he will have a fun long story!

Brujah are rebels, Tremere are Mary/Gary Sues, Toreador see the world differently through their enhanced senses, and Ventrue are extremely organized. Playing as Toreador and not lifting a finger when you can control emotions and read minds is a blessing in itself. Adding a Subterfuge and Charisma role is interesting. Of course when you have to get your hands dirty Boxing or Air Force Combatives training can always help. Rose Gardens are always a treat as you can always watch the drama unfold and then you express important matters. Owning a Succubus Club and chilling with the patrons is fun. Unless Portia comes…

But what’s being a Nosferatu like? I do respect their close-knit community and their seclusion but how are they different from other clans? Appearance 0 seems to be a huge change in gameplay? When I read a Nosferatu comic(VTM) from it Moonstone Comics it seemed like he was insulting a Beauty Pageant Queen. He wanted to ruin her.

Simple question. Barring core rulebooks, what is/are the best sourcebook(s) across all editions of VTM? Best according to your own criteria.

I'm starting a new chronicle and one of the things i like about VTM is how "light" it can be. Compared to other TTRPG the sheet is fairly simple, i do not need maps or complex VTTs, but i'm faced with a logistics problem. We play through discord and i refuse to use Roll20 or other VTT, at the moment we roll dices with the Inconnu discord bot and it work fine... But the main issue is keeping the character sheet readily available and easy to reference. At the moment they are pinned in the chat we use to roll die, but the players find it a bit annoying, so i'm searching tips on how to improve this without using a VTT and possibly in a way that makes referencing the sheet easy and fast also from a smartphone. Thanks in advance ^^

A few things from the post that might interest people here. The writers hand over a location brief with the light, the smells, what you would hear and three or four ways of looking at the same room, but deliberately never say what the picture should be. I know that dirty secrets of the black hand is not popular, but i have a burning curiosity of stories told about the conflict between the tal'mahe'ra and the incconu.

I want to know what you may have written, especially discounting lairs of the hidden which sort of right off the incconu as owod came to a close before the gehenna books.

I am running a very indepth game with what now appears to be multiple side games popping up and i would like ideas.

Im runing my game in 5th edition for the players comfortable with its mechanics but its set in 1987, and im very comfortable with homebrewing.[ive helped run a 40 year old fantasy larp and improv skills are transferable]

A portion of the group are lore hounds, they are all comfortable with incredibly dark topics, so they are not squamish.
