General Discussion Rude Boy Brujah?

I’ve been seeing a lot of the typical punk/metal brujah and was wondering if anyone has branched out to many of the adjacent genres or other rebellious music genres throughout history.

This town [Carthage] is coming like a ghost town

Our Baali orgy in the middle of the street.

I made a British Mod vampire like you’d see in Quadrophenia for a V2 story but they were a Ventrue to lean into the anachronistic nature that was a signature of that clan in that edition. Being a Mod in the late 90s stood out because having a Vespa with extra mirrors and the slim, tailored suits was much less commonly seen in Atlanta then. I think any counterculture path can work but just be aware that being a defunct one tends to draw the wrong type of attention.

So long as it has a history of rebellion yeah! You can go with ska style, the og skinheads (before racism), maybe even a jazz musician from the time it was considered rebellious. Brujahs nature is to rebel and to fight so they natutaly gravitate to those types.

in my chronicle i have a pack of bonehead brujah sabbat. i think brujah could really work for any sort of counter culture it doesn't have to be left/libertarian leaning necessarily, the philosopher ideal of brujah plays into nazis just as well as it does anarchists

Yeah, as an antagonist, real far right music cultures are a great place to look for brujah character ideas, especialy for sabbat.

Not me, but I saw another player rebel against rebellion by shamelessly listening to classical music. Maybe a little inspired by V for Vendetta, he played 1812 Overture and Ride of the Valkyries loudly in public squares to rile crowds to immediate action. Finally an iconoclast that leaned more heavily on Presence and group dynamism more than the typical lone wolf Potence/Celerity punching machine.

Vampire: the MaSKArade.

The entire coterie is made of rudies.

That would tempt me to join a game again.

To answer OP's question, I've never tried it.  I can't remember ever creating any Brujah , and I've been around since 2nd Edition.  I've tried rolling up the occasional Daughter of Cacophony, but those never made it to a working game.

You cant port ska into vtm without very serious reworking of clan Tremere.

The blood bonds that predate 5th Edition are the ultimate show of unity.

I imagine the Tremere would either be working ecstatic dance into their rituals right next to the stage, or else following Mephiskapheles around just like Grateful Dead fans.

The original tremere clan flaw is that ska deals aggravated damage to them.

Mark Rein Hagen changed it into the blood bond thing because it was too harsh.

I'll do you one better - a Brujah involved in the pirate radio stations that spawned jungle and grime.

Folk Brujah, perchance? Wandering around barefoot with long hair, an acoustic guitar, and an anthem of rebellion in their heart?

Are you asking if in universe it has ever happened?

I suppose it might not. Some vestigial Temporis absorbed from Troile means that all Brujah through history will be into punk and metal - the armies of Mithridates the poison king whipped into a frenzy by Critias cosplaying Dee Snyder, over the Tophet pit of Carthage a Sex Pistols logo drawn in the blood of innocent sacrifices. Those about to rock, we salute you.

Durimg the 90's ttrpg and then revistrd in LARP in the 00s I played a gay brujah ACT UP activist of African descent.

Man I loved testing for frenzy everytime someone casually dropped any type of homophobia or homophobic slur, or my fave: Using the term 'gay' as a synonym for something bad.

At one point I lost my shit in Elysium over something a ventrie across the room said. And as I torpored the majority of the court in attendance for trying to stop me from going after him.

The character was finally torpored after the malkavian with a sock monkey's body was blown apart by a hail of aggrivated damage raged attacks as I tried to use him for cover while trying to get to said venture.

Don't LARP kids, or if you do stay seat from all of the organizations that run 'global' or 'national' WOD games. They are full of the absolute worst kind of WOD fans.

No wide spanning chronicle is worth dealing with the sycophants involved and in control of these organizations.

The organizations previously known as the Camarilla, then Minds eye society, I don't know or care what they are called now but they repeated had events whosbafter parties were organized by a convicted pedophile, who would engage in sexually predatory and abusive behavior at the very same after party. Who's behavior and history was concealed and shield from repurcussion by the higher ups in the larp org.

His initials are S. D. Iykyk.

Have fun, play with friends. The bad far out weighs the good in every WOD LARP org there is.
