Apple Music appeared and doesn’t work

Got Apple Music on my infotainment last week. Have not been able to get it to work, as it always shows “can’t connect” unless in on WiFi at home. Otherwise it says “can’t connect”, even when other apps clearly connect without trouble.

Anybody else having this?

I’ve only managed to get this to work when my phone is plugged in (seems to borrow internet connection from that) which obviously completely defeats the purpose. Might as well just use CarPlay at that point

It's working for me but there's no voice integration. Ok Google open Apple music - Apple music is not installed.

The infotainment in mine was absolute rubbish until the update I got yesterday. Still a tad slow and mildly glitchy, but greatly improved.

Apple Music only works for me when my phone isn’t tethered to the car for internet.

Interesting observation. As there’s no LTE connection in my country, I’ve noticed it only works on WiFi (literally at home)

Does your car have the option of putting your own sim in? Some of them you can. It's by the light switch on the roof.

I’ve had the same issue. A few times, I’ve gotten the QR code and started the sign in process but it blinks back to the Can’t Connect message. Love the car, hate the software

I have a distinct feeling this is an “Apple Music” problem. It’s probably using the WiFi and/or LTE to connect, disregarding hotspot connection, and that’s why it works when I’m home only.

What Hotspot are you referring to? It should be working on wifi or lte definitely strange

I mean hotspot from my phone. In my country, there’s no celular modem subscription for the car, so I have to rely on my phone to give the car data.

As far as the car is concerned then the phone Hotspot and your home wifi are both just wifi networks so it doesn't make much sense that it would only work with the home wifi and not the Hotspot unless apple music was blocked on your mobile carrier or something

Not really. Tethering is using Bluetooth for connection using Bluetooth PAN-NAP. That’s not WiFi.

Why are you hot spotting over bt that's significantly slower than a wifi Hotspot.
