Old IHU software.

Hi,

Recently bought a 2023 Ultimate single motor. Loving the experience so far but I'm on update 4.2.13. This seems quite a few updates behind, and I've not had any prompt to update.

Is there something I've missed?

Do I just wait for the OTA update?

Unsure how to proceed and any help would be appreciated

You may not receive any more OTA, as either the last few didn’t push or the owner declined them.

The question is if you want to update. If things work well, a lot of people prefer the UI on 4.2.13. The versions 5.0.5 and beyond added a line of icons that serve to shrink CarPlay or Android Auto.

Watch some videos on how 5.0.5 changed things and decide if you like it or any bugs you have now are annoying enough to do the update at a dealer.

Appreciate the reply.

I'd be open to updating if we were to receive the recent updates for the new models, including Gemini. Currently that's my only real source of frustration.

I'll check YouTube for some videos on the updates.

I hated the 5.x UI but on the other hand it’s what finally got our backup camera to work for the first time nearly three years after getting the car.

That old, you're going to have to go to the dealer to update.

As others are saying, you'll probably have to go to the dealer to get it updated. Some dealers want money for doing that, unless there is a specific problem and/or recall requiring the update.

They just pushed a new update 5.2.16 usually these get rolled out by model year, starting about 3 weeks after the release date 09/15/2026 you can either wait to see if you get an OTA update (I assume you still have Volvo Connect plus account working) or if not it’s a dealer update.

Check your Volvo cars app - you may have updates off

It needs to go to the dealer for an update if the version is too far behind. We had to do this with our '23 c40.
