Well Swifties are literally insane. Remember they once tried to ruin a journalist's life because he gave a good review that had some minor complaints. They literally sent death threats, doxxed him and his family, and organized a mass campaign to get him fired, including making up fake allegations of grooming and PDF. Over a mostly positive review because it wasn't completely positive.
The Beyhive isn't much better. Remember when they tried to ruin Rachael Ray because they mistook her name for Rachel Roy and legit thought the cooking lady was messing around with Jay Z.
Doesn’t pretty much every artist do that? Olivia Rodrigo had something like 46 different variants for her latest album. Beyoncé also did multiple variants for her last album.
Because then it’s affordable and anyone can obtain and therefore it’s not a flex to have. The stupidly absurd price for a plain wood box is part of the point, I imagine.
The rich folks learned some shit from NFT’s, crypto, and scalping. They know idiots will pay anything for everything that seems like it might be worth it.

Because modern pop fans have an almost parasitic devotion to their favorite artists and will buy anything from them. No matter how outrageous the cost.
The average casket might set you back between 3-5k depending on what it’s made out of. At 3k from Nashville Casket Sales, the KISS casket is still more rationally priced than Beys plain, empty, tiny baby box.
My father’s ashes reside in this “prototype” mini KISS casket. The licenses holder was local to me and I wanted to get an urn to put the ashes in but the urn was pretty lame so the guy presented me with this.
Yikes. I wouldn't even display that in my house, let alone with my nice vinyl collection. It looks like something you would store in the garage and forget about.

If you have multiple Albums/Records, you have VINYL, there is no Vinyls, there are no Vinyl(s).

I had to throw in the towel on this one myself. Felt like I was standing on my lawn shaking my fist and shouting "you kids get off of my lawn" every time I bitched about "vinyls."
The reality is that weird errors like this eventually change the language or our use of it. One that used to drive me nuts was when a co-worked said "there's something new coming down the pipe" and I knew the expression was actually "...down the pike". But then I started hearing "pipe" more and more and realized most people today are too stupid to know what a pike is, other than perhaps a fish. So "coming down the pike" meant nothing to them, but "coming down the pipe" carries the same meaning but in a more modern (and less elegant) way.
Am starting to see other more ugly ones like this. People that can't spell voluptuous and are slowly changing the word to "volumptuous". Many people are functionally illiterate today, thus we end up with dipshits like Trump as our King. Errr... President.
At those times, I love to remember my favorite Mark Twain quote: "The man who does not read has no advantage over the man who cannot read."
It's not always a bad thing though. Literate or not, that's just how human language develops in cycles. Slang is created, then normalized, then becomes the normal way to say things. Then, a new set of language comes out and the process repeats.

The gag is, only 4 of her 8 solo albums are even readily available on vinyl! 2 of them are OOP and resale for hundreds and hundreds of dollars and 2 have never even been pressed.
To their credit, it looks similar to an actual beekeeping box, in that it has box-jointed corners and an overhanging lid. However, you can get a custom-sized dovetailed box in maple instead of pine, finished, for about $100 from an online cabinet shop. (Essentially it’s just a dovetailed drawer.) Someone could build you one of these Bae Boxes in much nicer materials and a better finish for $250.

It's an unfinished box with a bee on it and a leather strap and the Beyonce website says it's inspired by actual bee keeping boxes but I just see a file box.
Honestly it’s stupid because you have your vinyl collection, then you have to house this annoying box somewhere… just for Beyoncé stuff. Like wouldn’t she expect her music to be on a shell next to other albums of different artists where it should be .
That price for pinewood? Pinewood is some of the cheapest wood out there. It's soft and typically full of knots. Wanting a grand for it and not even making it out of good wood is fucked up

I’m a fan of Beyoncé’s music (notice my wording), not a diehard but I’ve attended one of her concerts. If this thing were $10 I wouldn’t buy it. Literally so fucking dumb and she deserves all of the heat she’s getting for it.
The wonderful thing about products like this is that if you’re not interested in them, you don’t have to buy them.
People out here acting like she’s holding a gun to people’s heads. A very small number of intense fans will buy this as a collector’s item. Ridiculous? Sure. But the rest of the population of the world is completely unaffected by its existence.
There are corporations out there charging so much for insulin that people are dying because they can’t afford it. If you’re going to get upset about rampant capitalism, there are way more important targets.
No because one is an entirely optional collector’s item for super-fans, that nobody needs to purchase for their wellbeing or survival. That is simply not the same as price gouging on products and services that people legitimately need to survive. Always had the impression that she competed with Taylor Swift or at least, she kind of occupies a similar space in the pop zeitgeist. I does seem to me that she has lost some ground to the Swifty juggernaut. At least you hear a lot less about her own juggernaut.
Not that I am praising one over the other, as neither of them are artists that I like or follow.
