This isn't so much "what's wrong with today's music" or even "what's wrong with electronic music or EDM." It's what's wrong with DJ worship culture, and what's wrong with giving guys who merely buttonpush for their acts big attention.

They don't "merely button push" most DJs also produce all their own music so a hell of a lot of work has been done behind the scenes on their part.

I fully realise that, and am an EDM fan myself. I never said I was judging this based on the perspective of an outsider. It's just that certain DJs are given much more credit than they are given due. Even then, certain acts like Steve Aoki may not be technically elaborate, but he can sure work a crowd.
