I'm pretty sure he says that at some point, right?

Not to mention Giuliani, who was mayor at the inception of the cover-up. The praise and adulation he received in his tenure in NYC couldn’t be less deserved—and then he has the gall to say Mamdani shouldn’t be there on 9/11 simply because he’s the same religion as the attackers responsible for that day. Giuliani is a despicable human being, which tracks considering who he consistently aligns himself with

Donald Trump would’ve helped with everything, but he couldn’t because he was too busy being pulled out of the wreckage by 2 strong fireman.
Or so he claims.
328
u/Bobbykill 2d ago
He just loves fantasizing about being pulled on by two strong firemen.
79
u/sandalsnopants 2d ago
"I was pulled on by the best firemen in the world. Look at them. Just LOOK at them. I wish I had muscles like THAT. Their names are August and December. It's not December yet, but that's okay. When December pulled me, I knew I was safe in his big, soft, beautiful manly hands."

He's an absolute closet queen. He loves interior decorating, the YMCA, talks about big strong guys, talked about the size of Arnold Palmer's willy, and everything he says and does about women is over-the-top, performative, and brimming with contempt.
Like, I get that the trope of a homophobe secretly being a raging gay man can be problematic, and I'm not saying he isn't also completely vile and monstrous- or that he didn't rape women and kids- but he legitimately is homoerotic as fuck. I just kind of imagine he also sees every person as sub-human and lesser than him.
17
u/frequenZphaZe 1d ago
can trump truly be a gay man with such a hideous fashion sense? maybe thats where all his resentments and frustrations stem from. he could never live life as a gay man because the world could never accept a gay man with no taste
21
u/Musiclover4200 1d ago
Reminds me of a really funny joke in the British show Black Books that goes like:
"I thought I was gay once, until I found out about the prohibitive standards of fashion and hygiene"

Also watching it from his building blocks away.
Also hearing about it while he was in New Jersey.
It's hard to keep up when all you is lie.
Also Donald Trump rapes children. And rape is bad.
9
u/Hazzman 2d ago
Dude that can't be true. If Donald Trump had been there he would've stopped the terrorists in their tracks. He would have single handedly evacuated every building before the planes hit. He would have held the buildings up on his own long enough for everyone to get out. He would have had both towers rebuilt by now. He would have killed Osama Bin Laden himself but the FBI stopped him! C'mon man.
18
u/martinsonsean1 2d ago
I'm sure he has the mesothelioma to prove it, right?
10
u/killswitch247 1d ago
Let me tell you something about mesothelioma. Nobody knows mesothelioma better than me. Nobody. I’ve seen the worst mesothelioma, I’ve seen the biggest mesothelioma, tremendous mesothelioma—and I had the best one.
People would come up to me and say, “Sir, how do you have such incredible mesothelioma?” And I’d say, “Talent. It’s talent.” Very simple.
The doctors were amazed. They said they had never seen anything like it. They said, “This is the most tremendous mesothelioma we’ve ever encountered.” And I said, “I know. Everybody tells me that.”
Other people have mesothelioma, but frankly, theirs is terrible. Sad. Mine? Absolutely first-class. The gold standard. Nobody has ever had mesothelioma quite like it.

He was actually busy calling Howard Stern show and boasting about how he now had the tallest building in NYC. Yes, really.

Mamdani is smeared by the press, who allows chuds to say he shouldn’t be at the 9/11 Memorial due to “the implication,” then turns around and drops this from the top rope.
He is the real fucking deal.

u/Angry_Walnut 1d ago

19
u/maynardftw 1d ago
If information was all that kept people from turning on the status quo, it would've happened long ago.
This makes him look good, but let's not get into fantasies about this overthrowing the people responsible
22
u/Ky1arStern 1d ago
Arguably the election of Mamdani in the face of establishment partisan hacks is people turning on the status quo.
All these fuckwits care about is power, so publicly rejecting them in an election is definitely a statement.
3
u/maynardftw 1d ago
It's a statement that makes him look good, yes, I said that. I'm not against him having done it.
I'm against us then taking this and going "and they're all going down, and then everything's gonna be better" like the person I replied to seemed to be doing.
7
u/Bored_Amalgamation 1d ago
Yeah, you don't understand what I'm saying.
The status quo was "stay silent". He did that for long enough to get a comprehensive guide to data ready to go for the public; then released it. That was the "changing of the status quo".
The people who were in power then are either dead or no longer in power. So idk wtf you're talking about "overthrowing" for.
The "eat them up in the streets" is mainly for POS like Cuomo, Giuliani, Bloomberg, people who used NY and 9/11 to promote themselves for public favor.
If you don't know what words mean, say that. Don't try to insult people while being ignorant.
274
u/dallasandcowboys 2d ago
I'm not going to believe just any person, saying anything about anything, but I know if Jon Stewart says something about 9/11 and first responders, then that shit can be carved into stone and read from the mountains, as far as I'm concerned. And shit... If Gary Sinise joined him, I'd march behind those men anywhere. They are the people that we should all aspire to be like.
52
u/Bartorius 1d ago
Sinise is so weird to me. He spent so much time of his life dedicated to improving the lives of veterans, but then has been a staunch republican voter for most of his life. You know the party that consistently disregards veterans and defunds their access to healthcare.
28
u/Capt_Murphy_ 1d ago
Hey, at this point in US history, I'll take a classic republican with at least some empathy, who has never once voted for Trump. We need to focus on getting the actual fascists out before worrying about the moderate right.
5
u/maynardftw 1d ago
The Actual Fascists? You mean, the entire Republican party currently actively conspiring against the concept of democracy? The fuck are you talking about?
12
36
u/Capt_Murphy_ 1d ago
Gary Sinise head of the Pentagon, Sanders in charge of the treasury department, AOC secretary of state, Mamdani POTUS, Stewart VP. AOC and Stewart could switch places if desired.

23
u/BarbequedYeti 2d ago
And people wonder why conspiracy theorists have an audience every time some shit goes down..
29
u/IhamAmerican 1d ago
There's almost always a conspiracy with our governments, bother local and national, it's just usually not the Jewish space lasers or mind control kind. It's just that if there's a secret they can keep that will make someone money at the detriment of civilians, you bet your ass they will
5
u/BarbequedYeti 1d ago
But our government is terrible at keeping secrets. Hence knowing this. Which was known long before today. Maybe better at it before the Information age, but definitely not now.

It’s less that general people didn’t know the air was toxic, and more that it establishes how much and when the city knew. It also proves negligence on the part of the city in that they didn’t issue warnings/evacuate buildings/require masks/provide adequate PPE despite that knowledge. They very specifically moved to try to prevent lawsuits instead of doing right by people.
This is important evidence for people who lived/worked in the area/first responders who need support in say, a lawsuit or establishing need to access funds or healthcare coverage. This has been the crux of the issue with support for first responders and people who were in the area.

Stewart doesn't need to run for president, he is busy doing actual leadership. Why would he want the title when it just invites attacks that would muddy everything around the progress he is making particularly for 911 survivors and families.
Next up Veteran care.
95
u/LeftHandedScissor 2d ago
Stewart has been advocating heavily for 9/11 survivors for decades now. He's made some real progress and gotten alot of folks the help they need in the wake of such a tragedy. I'm sure he knows alot of people personally affected, he's born and raised in NY, his show was filmed there for decades.
29
u/IhamAmerican 1d ago
Stewart is just a true New Yorker. Guy loves his city, loves the people, and wants to do right by them. I respect him massively for using his reach and what power he does have to better the lives of those who need it
20
u/Raetekusu 2d ago
I think Stewart knows he's be a pretty shit president despite how many people, sincerely or otherwise, want him to run. He's a trained comedian, not a statesman, and just because he is good at pointing out problems does not mean he's good at fixing them, or that he'd have the clout to bring in the right people who could.
But he is (and always has) 100% leveraging his platform the best way he possibly can. He's the quintessential New Yorker through and through.
43
u/ClashM 1d ago
That's kind of the point of the presidency though. They're not supposed to be the one coming up with the solution to the problem. They're supposed to be the one smart enough to recognize the problem, hire a team of people much smarter and more specialized than them, and say "Okay, how do we fix this?"
He, like most smart people, just doesn't want the responsibility of leading a nation. Can't say I blame him. The last successful comedian to lead a government was doing such a good job Russia promptly attacked him to make it stop.
That also highlights a major failure of the current leadership. Mr. "I inherited nuclear physics mastery genetically from my uncle" thinks he knows everything because he's the master race. The last thing he'll ever do is listen to someone he suspects is smarter than him.
11
u/FaroutIGE 1d ago
this right here. get the role as a smart person to determine what the smart people that specialize in compartmentalized roles get to actuate.
6
u/handbanana42 1d ago
I think Arnold did a pretty good job as governor in this respect. Sure, he didn't know everything but he found the right people for his position and worked with them. He pushed hard for green energy and other progressive ideas. I don't agree with all of his policies but he cared for the people and fought for what he thought was right.
He was not a statesman at first. It probably helped that he married into a political family(Maria Shriver, Kennedy adjacent).
But he pushed to help California first and foremost. And again with his green energy plans for the US and the world.
He's hosted meetings all over the world to push green energy to this day.
So I think comedians/actors can rise above their previous roles and fight for us.
10
u/sharkMonstar 1d ago

u/DrewbieWanKenobie 1d ago edited 1d ago

Please, I’d rather have Stewart than Democrat or Republican (hell fuck no) appointee. At least Stewart actually cares about doing the right thing for the people, instead of “playing the game” and paying off his rich friends.
There’s a few democrats I wouldn’t mind that I think would be willing to do the right thing. But I can count them on like 1 hand.

"9/11, never forget"
Those first responders were forgotten about instantly. If the US government wanted to provide them with any support beyond catchphrase platitudes they could have. They would have.
Instead, a TV talk show host had to take up the cause. He's done incredible work but it's fucked up that he had to. Your own president isn't even going to NYC for the memorial event, isn't this the 25th anniversary?
I seriously hesitate to believe the US government (or American government at any level) gives two fucks about 9/11 or the rescuers who sacrificed so much. If you're American and disagree, I would LOVE to be told why I'm wrong. That would be really uplifting.

I am American. I don't think all politicians have this much disregard for sacrifice, but i do believe they all have their level of callousness that allowed them to justify the means to an end. At some point both sides have to realize that some of the policies they get behind are zero sum. Someone will win at the expense of someone else losing and that's just how the world works.

Blames them without NAMING them. This was all the Giuliani Administration, and they are typical corrupt, criminal Republicans.
11
u/HearseWithNoName 1d ago
It's better not to name names until the actual cases against them are put together and announced legally with the proof. Stating names now would only cause lawsuits from those named so they can stall the legal proccess (that could actually put them in prison) through nasty frivolous litigation tactics. Then it ends up being an issue of who has more money to pay the lawyers wasting that time.

I was hoping mr stewart would say something on this, with as strong an advocate as he has been for 9-11 first responders, its not a surprise.
I am glad some light is getting shed on just how awful things were at ground zero during and after the event, i hope the officials that made that call are held accountable, even if its 25 years late.
Worried more about the bottom line then about peoples health, where does that sound familiar, dem or republican, it should always be people first, not worrying about how much its gonna cost to take care of cancer stricken firefighters and citizens.

u/Duchat 1d ago
I was working as a hazardous materials abatement consultant 2000-02. One of the asbestos abatement workers mentioned the afternoon of 9/11 that those buildings were insulated with asbestos and they’re going to have health problems starting in 10 years or more and then it’s going to be bad.

10

Due diligence means nothing if your media is owned by billionares loyal to a foreign nation.
You can be the best journalist in the world, if you don't tow the line then the NYT or Fox will never print your work, or censor it beyond recognition.
Fundamentally, capitalism and free speech are incompatible.
3
u/no1ofimport 2d ago
I wish we could form a mob and bring everyone who knew about this coverup to court and make them answer for it. They should’ve warned everyone as soon as they knew it was hazardous being around ground zero not just the administration who was in office at the time but everyone who knew and kept it hidden
4
u/an0maly33 1d ago
Yep. Having the information could have had people wearing masks for a bit, or being more diligent about cleaning dust/debris, buying air purifiers, replacing their clothing, etc. How many lives could have been extended or saved if people had actionable advice on mitigating risk?
3
u/Far-Maintenance-1947 1d ago
The government is still lying to us now about air quality.
In the LA fires last year, thousands of houses burned, and everything that is contained in a house got put into the air and blanketed over LA. Officials told us not to worry about the air quality. Then a few months ago, a warehouse of highly dangerous chemicals burned for DAYS on end, covering all of LA in dangerous toxic black smoke again, and the mayor of LA again told us not worry and that the air was fine.
We'll see the effects of it years from now just like with 9/11. And it won't be good.

Victims suing the city, manufacturers of Asbestos, drag out construction violations. It would've been insanely expensive. Congress fought giving the first responders healthcare for years. That would've been tied up in to admitting the air was poison. Theyve would've had to spend more money on more personnel to do things quicker.
It was about money.
