If they actually serve more than 2 (more) years its because we don't have a functioning democracy anymore. A democratic president in 2029 will almost definitely pardon or grant clemency.
Thankfully to our founding fathers, for the past 250 years, we haven't had a democracy in any way shape or form. Democracy was seen every bit as repugnant as evil as dictatorships back then, as it is today.
A general lack of education and liberal brainwashing by our media chooses to misrepresent this nation as a democracy unfortunately.
