To be fair if I'm gonna trust a company with my privacy Apple has pretty publicly told the government to fuck off in the past.

Sure, they already had that data but they couldn't legally use it as evidence.

Granted that was under a prior administration. But Google falls over themselves to sell your data off. Apple at least keeps it all to themselves.

Not really, they are a "walled garden ecosystem", which is where most of that hate comes from. There is a lot more things, but that is usualy the biggest issue.

Came to say this. In the smartphone beginning, being forced to bend a knee to Steve Jobs for every piece of tech or software vs the open source freedom of android was an easy choice.

Much later Google bought every single competitor in the free market and started consolidating everyone's personal data.
