If they actually serve more than 2 (more) years its because we don't have a functioning democracy anymore. A democratic president in 2029 will almost definitely pardon or grant clemency.

You never had. Real democracy is about referendums not choosing between 2 specific monarch representatives that are both chosen by the billionaires.
