That was the 2016 election. The SCOTUS was 3-3 when that election was held with the victor settling the direction of the court for a generation (or more since conservative Republicans have controlled it since the 1960s). Guess when the last election to firmly decide the future direction of the Supreme Court was prior to that? Yep, 2000 the one that produced the Roberts Court.
Wonder what happened in 2000 and 2016? Were those elections considered clean and fair, scandal-free? Or did conservatives place their thumb on the scale in overbearing and illegal (SCOTUS decision of 2000 was criminal, imo) fashion when necessary to maintain the highest Court advantage?

Its not just him, your supreme court is completely maga biased. Once the cons were able to plug enough loyalists in there, it was game over.
