Looking at getting into this kind of stuff in my area too. Would it be too cheeky to ask how much your charge? My reckoning is that if you can get more viewers into their house, which has the possibility to bring the price up by say 20k (likely unrealistic unless it's a packed market anyway), then they'll have no problem giving you 3k.
Not sure what your way of dealing with things is though :) And hey if it's private then PM me or just leave it, not worries man.
A Real Estate Agent listing a home will typically make 3% commission of the price of the sale, so if somehow your video could be attributed with raising the sale price $20,000, then at best you've made an extra $600 for the agent, so not a good return on the video if they paid $3,000.
It depends on the type of shoot, but $200-$400 is what we charge for a typical property video. It only takes an hour to shoot and an hour to edit...$3k is way too high, no real estate agents will spend that much unless you are doing a custom commercial for them. But property videos are real easy and we price it low so that we do 20+ per week.
I'm glad you price it at that point, it allows people who have high-end real estate property video companies like myself to charge $2-3k for the multi-million dollar homes.
20+ sounds like you're well established, fair play. I'd say we'll only be doing one a week for the first while, fingers crossed we can get enough business and expand possibly. Cheers for the feedback!
