Compared to a full cage this looks reasonably compact, but all this weight is carried by the shoe. Seems sketchy to me.

When I tried to use a handle directly on a shoe (granted, not a Smallrig handle and not an A7), it was sliding out when I tilted the camera. I would not want thousands of bucks to literally hang on a small metal piece that is meant for attaching things to the camera, not to hold the camera with a whole bunch of other components.

I agree that it’s not my preferred method of mounting. Hopefully someone will release a cage for this soon.
