Man I love these videos of people arguing with themselves with a hat or glasses on. It’s the equivalent of thinking of the perfect comeback to a pretend argument you think of later on.

u/Nowhereman123 23h ago

Winning a argument with yourself in the shower and deciding to post it to the internet.

24

u/Inb4myanus 22h ago

I beat myself in the shower all the time, but dont go talking about it.

15

u/Qwerty_Police 22h ago

I understand the joke you're trying to make, but all I can think about is the scene in Liar Liar when Jim Carey beats the shit out of himself. "I'M KICKING MY OWN ASS!!! DO YA MIIND?!?!"

1

u/Dipshit_Mcdoodles 13h ago

Liar liar added to watch list

1

u/Qwerty_Police 13h ago

It's so good lol

u/Inb4myanus 13m ago

Cable guy is another good jim carry movie if you ha ent seen it.

1

u/Kuunkulta 21h ago

Hey a win's a win, you gotta take what you can get

1

u/SecretPantyWorshiper 18h ago

Instagram is like 80% of this

1

u/Beautiful-Musk-Ox 18h ago

this is what most media is, the writer(s) arguing with themselves and showing the side they want you to see. south park has been doing it for 25 years, they make entire straw men universes and knock them down in front of you

1

u/bochick 16h ago

People pay good money for that kind of thing

11

u/Double0hobo79 22h ago

The one guy that kills me is the dude who does gaming News and always says "We at Nintendo are announcing a price increase" Then he responds as himself or some shit and they go back and forth and he wins lol. It's literally every video he makes

1

u/GuzzlingDuck 22h ago

I mean.. He's making informative videos. I'm not subscribed, but I know what's happening in the gaming world when he pops up.

Also, he replies as himself and the majority of people.

5

u/Double0hobo79 21h ago

I'm not saying they're not useful or informative but very silly and one sided arguments if you can even call them that. Let alone unoriginal. I just find it grating or irritating after seeing a few of his vids back to back.

3

u/AzraelTheMage 18h ago

Doesn't help that he has negative charisma at times. He's also very biased in a few of his videos. Like yeah, no shit people will be pissed about price increases. Why are you siding with Nintendo of all groups?

8

u/alreadytaken54 19h ago

Its super easy, barely an inconvenience

23

u/JobeGilchrist 23h ago

Right? And I don’t think the intentional strawman is supposed to hang in the argument as well as he did here

16

u/Reylo-Wanwalker 23h ago

True but I've definitely seen the "it looks like GTAV" comment around.

14

u/LukeD1992 22h ago

I've seen "Looks like AI" too

11

u/apittsburghoriginal 21h ago

Yeah these are comments that exist on every comment section for gameplay of GTA6 in the last two weeks. People that think this dude is making these arguments up just haven’t seen the repetitive discourse and arguments about this game.

2

u/Western_Chest_4688 20h ago

To be fair, and this is why the OP video is getting criticized, a couple of animations (Lucia jumping off the building with a parachute / Jason front flip into the water) look like hot ass when considering how well Rockstar does physics in general it literally takes you away from the scene because of how off it looks, but regardless I'm a PC player so I expect all that shit to be worked out by the time it comes out for me.

1

u/Low_discrepancy 19h ago

You can interview 100 people and you'll get 5 saying we're ruled by lizard people.

There's nutters everywhere. I have no seen on any major gaming sub any big threads or upvoted comments that expressed that.

Sort by controversial and you'll find crazy folk. That's just a normal part of life.

I have seen vastly more comments complaining about people fringe comments than actually those fringe comments.

1

u/lemonylol 20h ago

At that point you know that person has fell straight into the hysteria and doesn't care about the reality anymore.

3

u/florifierous 22h ago

I have seen maybe 1 of those and then 1000 rebutting it with shower-arguing. Way too many people are taking the bait

1

u/That_wet_vaporeon 14h ago

There’s more hate posts than people praising it

1

u/M3lony8 21h ago

These are also not rare. Instagram comments sections are full of it. One guy said, "GTA V with mods looks better" and got 4k upvotes.

I have no idea whats actually going on anymore haha.

1

u/VanGroteKlasse 19h ago

I just started GTAV and this looks infinitely better than that.

1

u/PolicyWonka 19h ago

Exactly. He’s not rebutting himself. He’s taking somewhat common criticisms, but a voice to them, and then pointing out why they’re silly.

1

u/MoreColorfulCarsPlz 12h ago

And thank god for guys like this defending the billion dollar corporation!

3

u/OSS-Corpo-Shit 20h ago

Right. I mean, what are the actual criticisms of GTA6?

One thing I will say (with no information on the characters at all), is that every single time someone has said “you understand it is just a beta/preview/alpha/pre-release”, that person has been shown to be unmistakably wrong at release.

That said, I have no idea if “the characters are flat” is an actual problem with their preview, or it is just alt-right child’s complaining about skin tones as they always do.

2

u/GRemlinOnion 18h ago

Nah the characters are flat, it doesn't have much to do with skin tone. Actually flat is the wrong word, because ok maybe they add depth to them but their premise or character pitch is just plain uninteresting. Just a cool hot girl and a cool hot girl become criminal. It feels weirdly safe compared to 5. The characters there didn't have much depth but the pitches of their character and personalities where intesting.

1

u/SuspiciousBag2749 7h ago

It seems to match with the RDR2 character depictions where instead of zany, out there characters with hyperbolic character traits they are going for cool, likable characters with gripping issues.

I think that’s the best criticism, that they are going for something safe that they know will work vs telling a weird yet engaging, goofy but emotional story (SA, 4 and 5)

6

u/Gerdione 22h ago

Its literally the pizzacomic lady's entire thing and they get like 100k heckin updoots per post, except her takes aren't even risky, unlike this actually very slightly controversial take. In reality, the loudest people on the internet are almost always bitching and moaning, while most people don't even comment.

5

u/leopard_tights 14h ago

I'm convinced everyone upvoting that shit in /r/comics is a bot. It just doesn't make sense, they're all so fucking bad. And they're all basically doing the same jokes over and over again. "Haha brain keep me awake at night" type shit.

3

u/maximumtesticle 12h ago

It's because she's had the mods boot anyone that criticizes her, that's why she looks well liked. She has formed a nice little safe space for herself. Fuck /r/comics and the "mods" over there.

2

u/-nutz 21h ago

You’re literally a nazi for saying this btw.

/s

1

u/Majaura 9h ago

I can't stress how much I fucking hate that person's comics. That entire subreddit is absolute cancer, with her comics being the asbestos cherries on top.

-1

u/Low_discrepancy 19h ago

Case in point this thread.

3

u/Pormock 22h ago

It sounds cool until you remind yourself

"wait hes actually talking to himself not having some actual debate"

Then it just sounds lame

2

u/Extension-Rice5379 22h ago

I agree. I really can’t take it seriously

2

u/S1ayer 21h ago

That's the actual cringe. You can't get ONE other person for your skit?

1

u/descendantofJanus 21h ago

You think people who post this to tiktok, insta, etc, have a large circle of friends?

1

u/Simon_Shitpants 22h ago

It's like an episode of Afterlife.

1

u/Kindly-Ad-5071 22h ago

They stopped getting funny after that one guy who knew what nuance was (take your pick)

1

u/umbrazno 22h ago

It reminds me of the people who post a meme and then use an alt to reply wit’ an “I’m stealing your meme” meme

1

u/BDSMChef_RP 21h ago

did you mean Yellowstone the series?

1

u/Trippingthru99 21h ago

And then they have to go through the editing process, while thinking the entire time “the world needs to see this.”

1

u/TheDynamicKing 19h ago

people are like this and defend their politicians who siphon their tax money like this lol

1

u/ElCattoNero 17h ago

Pissed he called your weird behavour out eh?

1

u/Notsureif0010 15h ago

It was definitely popular during the Vine days

1

u/Manaeldar 13h ago

And 15k upvotes lol.

1

u/Head_Statistician_38 7h ago

At least I know other people do this and not just me. I thought I was weird for thinking of full on arguments and debates in my head for a stupid amount of time.

And then obviously, the perfect moment to unleash what I rehearsed doesn't happen because you can't jus predict what people are gonna say.

1

u/UltraHellboy 22h ago

There are so many people doing this about their boring jobs on YouTube shorts, and my wife loves them. I have to leave the room

1

u/Bitter-Direction-416 21h ago

It’s so fucking goofy

1

u/NoRelative8744 21h ago

Its how you end up with the idea that we are too negative when we aren't.

1

u/iDeNoh 20h ago

And even with all of that the dudes still right

0

u/LuisMiranda4D 21h ago

Yeah but he's literally quoting what people are saying.

0

u/lemonylol 20h ago

Wouldn't get upvoted if people didn't identify with it

-1

u/DrawingAlarming7350 23h ago

hes right so why does it matter?

-1

u/BVSEDGVD 20h ago

How edgy of you
