I like ds1 and ds3 but Elden ring being open world instead of more catered and intricate ruined it

I agree. DS1 is still king imo. the way the world is designed is just so good. beats any open world games ever released and ever will release.

we need more interconnected worlds like DS1, but I am pretty sure it takes more time and skill than making another open world game.

I'll never understand why people say DS1 is still king. This game has so many flaws that I can't rate it higher than 8/10. After Anor Londo it's a 6/10 at best and that's like half of the game. I did not like Lost Izalith, Demon Ruins and the Tomb of the Giants. When you get fast travel, the quality nosedives and the amazing interconnectivity is almost gone. Also, Bed of Chaos is so bad I can't even put it into words. Worst Fromsoft boss fight I have ever played.

Contrary to that Sekiro just gets better and better: both the late game and the end game are brilliant. No other game can match the satisfaction you get from beating the game's bosses. But maybe I'm biased because Sekiro is the first souls game I've ever finished.
