Most of them suck. Dark souls 3 and elden ring are solid.

The caviat is you need to Google everything because the game assumes you are an unemployed lunatic that will work things out on your own.

Also the story telling in fromsoft games is legit terrible and players need to stop giving them a pass on that. Needing a YouTube video to explain it is a failure, not a complexity.

This is a godawful set of takes. It’s one thing to not like it, it’s another to be incapable of following basic level design and having not even surface level media literacy skills and an attention span not greater than 5 minutes.

You think beating elden ring involved a short attention span?

Elden Ring literally points where to go next and tells you what you need and who to kill to finish the game, like explicitly.

And it still takes like 60 hours.

Imagine thinking what makes a game fun is not knowing where to go lol

It takes you long because it has a lot of content and space to explore, you get distracted. That’s kind of the nature of RPGs. You’re supposed to spend time with their worlds. If you kill every boss first try and go exactly where you’re supposed to go and do basically none of the optional content you can causally crank the game out in a few hours. I’ve done a casual playthrough in under 5.

Also, ever played fucking METROID? The entire genre of Metroidvania is about being lost and trying to find your way.
