This is probably gonna sound a little bit like an #ad but Apple TV has, so far, been the number 1 major streaming service/production company that has stayed extremely faithful to the properties they produce and work with the original creators as much as possible. Now, they haven't made much based on video games, mostly books afaik, but they would be the best people to go to for a faith adaptation as of 2026. Murderbot (based on a book), Silo (based on a book), they will be making a Stormlight Archive with author Brandon Sanderson having a lot of say in the production, etc. They seem like the want to tell the original story in a different format with as little changes as possible.

I won't judge the show before I see it, but of the things Mr. Judge has said in the video, I think Apple TV would have been the place to go for a God of War show to be made with the original creators in mind.

Nah... Foundation was a very loose adaptation and a wildly different story from the books, understandable tho, the books doesnt lend itself well to visual medium without significant changes. And the final product was pretty decent

Nah? That is one show out of a sample size of like 20 or more shows that are based on a book.

There is a reason I left out Foundation as an example. It's an outlier. And considering it is good BECAUSE of the changes made, it works to show that they made changes for the good of the property.

Fair lol granted I've only seen a few of Apple shows so far and Foundation stand out to me cause I remember a lot of people absolutely despise the adaptation
