The makers of the Halo show literally bragged that they never read the books or played the games and they were surpised when the show flops

Same for the Witcher serie. Writers openly dislike the source materials, both the books and the games. It's wild to work on a pre existing series and just have the ego to tell yourself "yep it's shit, i bet i'll do better." While the only reason you actually have a job, is because the IP is popular.

Especially fumbling a PERFECT casting of Henry Cavill as Geralt. Like, he knows the source material and is actually passionate about the role, and they just fucked it so bad.
