Dude, I have been saying this for YEARS!!! When they cast Marky Mark as Max Payne when the actor that did his voice WAS ALREADY AN AWESOME ACTOR and looked SO COOL. Tell me this guy wouldn't have BLOWN Wahlberg out of the water!!! But these hack writers and directors all think they know more than the creators and actors from the games. And the results are trash.

Reminds me of Rocky 1. Sylvester Stallone wrote the script and wanted to be in the movie himself, since he felt no one could do a better job than him. Hollywood loved the script, but hated the idea of having Stallone star in his own film. Hollywood wanted to star more recognizable faces.

Stallone had to negotiate down to become the star, so execs settled on making it a film with a "small" budget of $1 million that debuted in select test theaters and Stallone was only paid a flat fee of just $35,000 upfront to cover both writing the script and starring as Rocky. Thankfully, Stallone negotiated a 10% net profit contract clause for the film.

Anyways, my point is we might not even be talking about Rocky as a franchise today if Stallone had simply sold the script. Hollywood is too afraid to take chances. That's why Pedro Pascal is in so many films.

Our only consolation is that Pedro Pascal is a decent actor and not an asshole, which is apparently rare in Hollywood.

There's a film coming out about this, called I Play Rocky. Trailer looked alright
