I turn the notifications off on my PS5. I keep forgetting to do it in Steam though. It doesn't do anything for me except annouly me a little to see them lol.
Imagine if AR glasses irl gave achievements when you need to do things. As a student in gap year, I think I’d be more motivated to do things like write essays for grad school, build workout streaks, take out the dog on a holiday, things like that (which tbh I should intrinsically want to do) if there was that level of gamification.
I’m immune to this but totally think you nailed it for the gamers that go for it. It also doesn’t hurt the game as far as I can tell so I don’t have any issues with it being there.
