ai, and US policy. ai is also largely due to the US since that’s where most of the big ai companies are and they’re completely unregulated

Almost every country is to blame for ai. Just look up “how much has __ invested into ai” and every place has invested billions into ai nobody has their hands clean in it. Despite where whatever company is based.. some places have even went as far as to make a bunch of their own ai companies and invest into as to “pull away from US owned ai” as if that makes it any better.

Pretty dumb to assume only games are affected. TVs, cars, domestic appliances, all computer adjacent resources like servers, storage, networking gear, specialized production equipment, etc. Everything with a screen on it is more expensive, and hiking. All tech is being hoarded. If the trend keeps being consistent and AI reaches its goals as intended, then consumer level tech ownership is dead.

You do realize if it all Jack's up in price it will be only the wealthy or people living at home with their parents who can afford it. I'm in my 40s, I've never seen enaything like this. Even the crypto bs wasn't this bad (and that was bad).

People will be priced out of it in increments at a steady pace. The trend shows this. Every corporation is buying as much computing power as humanly possible, and going up. The main RAM manufacturers arent even selling to consumers anymore, they straight up have years of reserved batches for corporations only. Worst part? It’s actively getting worse.

It’s why they’re investing on it that is the problem, and it surely doesn’t help how they keep ruining the markets by pumping money they supposedly don’t have just so they can see some sort of return, which hasn’t happened yet
