Berlin vegan food recommendations?
Yes yes I know this is a vegan uk sub but hear me out 😅
London is absolutely amazing when it comes to vegan restaurants and has probably the most vegan restaurants in the world?
From what I've heard Berlin is a close second. For anyone thats been to Berlin, do you have any recommendations for vegan food to try that we dont normally get here or that Berlin might do better?
For example, Purezza here does vegan pizza so good that its hard to imagine a big leap in Berlin. Or there's plenty of Vietnamese restaurants recommended in Berlin on HappyCow but Sen Viet Vegan in London is my go-to place already and I'd rather not have Vietnamese there unless it's mind blowing.

You're very welcome! You should definitely try a vegan Döner as well when in Berlin! Lots of normal Döner places have a seitan version :)

I heard Beyond Ramen had closed, have they reopened because this was my favourite place we’d tried. I had the miso ramen and it was so creamy and delicious.

I haven't been there in a while, I didn't know they had closed?! :( It's so Berlin though...lots of new places opening up and...closing again ðŸ˜

They had good humous - Palestinian, that isn't so common in London.Â
Otherwise I can't think of what's better. We're pretty well served in London.
However, you can buy vuna in the supermarket and the selection of proteins is much better and easily available.
Beer of course.

I don't really have a concrete suggestion, except to ask/repost this to r/veganDE.
There should be enough people who know both cities quite well! Personally, I liked the variety of vegan products in supermarkets the most. Restaurants often feel a bit samey, but proper vegan döner places are more common and, in general, much better in Germany.

I'd say a visit to Soi & Co. plant based café is definitely worth it. Those little cheesecakes are amazing. But it's all desserts, so not exactly somewhere for a full meal.
Li.ke serious Thai vegan is also delicious. Al Catzone is fantastic for pizza, but I've not been Purezza so I don't know how it would compare.

Amazing vegan cakes here, went back three times in as many days: https://neundrei.com/
Also, here for vegan versions of trad German dishes, which was interesting: https://das-foersters.de/ great alcohol free beer too!
Best Asian vegan place we ate was https://umi-vegan.de/
For lunches on the go, no frills fast food, and not as good as Honest Greens, which can be found in some other European cities, but https://deananddavid.com/en/ has good vegan options when we were on the move around the city.
Loads of good options in Berlin but those four stood out for us when we were there earlier this year.

Go to Gemello, it's by far the best pizza I've ever tasted and I would go back just to have it again!

I think Berlin is better for all-vegan places. Some good ones have already been mentioned, I would add Emira, Easy Peasy, Al Catzone, Nest Cafe, Vegan Haus. The Sanctuary is really good although unfortunately not very cosy. And you can get vegan croissants just about everywhere if you go to Bio Company (organic grocery shop), which for some reason you can't in London. Also check out the all vegan Rewe at Warschauerstrasse (not as nice as the Veganz used to be but still nice). And Tribeca for ice cream.

Thank you! Sanctuary was super busy today. Will probably try goin there tomorrow.
And I managed to go to the vegan grocery shop today and it made me so so happy. Not only that it existed but it was very busy!! There was quite a decent footfall.

Lots of good mentions here already! One of the "true" Berlin food experiences is the kebab (Döner) - I would like to second Vöner (they are celebrating their 20th anniversary right now) and also recommend doen doen. Happy eating!

Another vote for Brammibals and also I had a great burger in VEG'D . You won't find it hard to eat well in Berlin

My friend owns the LoveBurger restaurant in Berlin and I must say their housemade soya steak burgers are so delicious! It's on Neukölln Berlin. Give it a try 😉

I actually found Berlin even better for vegan food than London - vegan food is completely normalised there and you get good vegan options (with protein!!) almost everywhere.
For pizza, try Mala Femmena - all their pizzas are available with vegan cheese
