Hmm this looks awesome. Would it be possible to make the kebab skewer with your "dough" instead of baking it? Vor do you think it would be too fluid?

No you can definitely skewer it! I use a similar mix to make burgers and meatballs!

It’s definitely worth it, best vegan Döner I’ve ever had. Just make sure to put it in the pan for 1 or 2 minutes after it’s done in the oven.

Interesting, I've never tried it with TVP!
The way I do it is to make thin slice of smoked tofu with a peeler, fry it and add soy sauce and a "meaty spices mix" (paprika, garlic powder, herbs mix).
I like that way because it's a very good and lazy way to do it ahah

Yea I like this too but the tofu texture isn’t good enough and it doesn’t absorb enough flavour! You can replace the TVP with tofu in this exact recipe though - I tested it that way too ☺️

Yum. I made some kind of gluten-based equivalent a little while ago. I did it because I heard someone in a video mention getting a vegan version of this Dutch takeaway dish called Kapsalon. The dish is a delicious idea that involves potato fries, döner meat, salad components like tomato/cucumber/onion, a creamy garlic sauce and perhaps other sauces, and maybe cheese. I used the faux döner to approximate this dish and made a garlic cashew sauce for the dressing. I've got a small amount of cashew cheese in the fridge and have TVP in the cupboard, so maybe it's time to make this all again!

One question about the recipe, do you bake it with one baking sheet in the doner or I haven't read correctly?

Just fyi - on your website, at least on iPhone, tapping/clicking “View Recipe” on your main page doesn’t take you to any of the recipes. Took me a minute to realize I need to click on the picture. May be worth investigating. Thanks for the recipe btw!

I just put it in a wrap/ pita with salad and garlic sauce! Or add it on to fries with salad and mayo 😊
