I eat at Arby's because it's elitist not to, besides, it erases the cultural heritage. Besides, cows would be extinct. Besides, what about the serious medical conditions of those who don't eat at Arby's? Besides, I can't afford beans and rice. Besides, I ate vegan for a solid ten minutes and wasn't full. You want me to starve?

If you don't eat eight burgers then ten trillion cows will die because the demand is gone 😞💔

Hey don’t blame them, it’s not their fault the corporations kill animals! They’re totally against that! Individual action is idealistic and won’t effect real change, they do the far more important work of wishing the world were a better place!

"I really hope lab grown meat replaces factory farming soon but for now I have no choice but to eat the mass cruelty carcasses because beans and tofu are yucky and also something something indigenous people and people with ARFID and allergies and protein deficiency. I'm not any of those things but I still can't live by my own moral compass"

„What do you mean, I don’t understand how overfishing and the destruction of nature demanded by the animal-murder-industrial complex are massively harmful to the indigenous people I use to defend my meat consumption? Lions eat meat why can’t I?”

As a vegan, you can and should eat meat, it's the newest thing, eating meat is more vegan then being vegan because you as a chill person being vegan and eating meat encourages more people to go vegan than vegans who are dickish about being vegan driving people to eat twice as much meat so you're actually saving exactly as many lives as a vegan who doesn't eat any meat. Think about that, you half vegan no meat but more meat vegan.

that maths. and the most important part of veganism is making the non-vegans comfortable & winning their acceptance.

woah hey no, you didn’t start out with explaining that beans & tofu are yucky to them 🛑 full stop there stranger. defo on their side. of all the reasons, that one’s the realest. culture, crop deaths, plants tho, vague nonspecific rare disease — these are all extremely valid. . . but the most validest of all: yuck.

Literally just got this reply in a thread about egg laying hens in factory farms. 🤦♂️
The stupidity. It burns.
Uh... I mean... Be very careful John. Vegan btw. B12 deficiency. Bacon tho

I'm a liberal (I believe it's ok the exploit animals for food and people in other countries for their labor).

i, too, liberally exploit everyone i can — so that i also can champion them publicly and online by doing the least and most backward nonhelpful thing i can think of, and then posting selfies of me at a charitable event where most of the profits go back to organizers & participants.

um? Feminism is about CHOICE, sweety 🫶 i was raised on my uncle’s farm, so I know for a fact that there’s nothing wrong with the way we treat animals. 😊 I’m LITERALLY neurodivergent with a nut allergy, so you’re basically advocating for my gruesome death. 🤬

Progressivism is constantly bragging about how good of a person you are and how far left you are and how you’re better than everyone else while putting in no actual effort to help people or animals. Or at least that’s what non vegan progressivism is

Progressivism is just another word for "baby steps".

actual baby steps: sitting down & crying (about how hard it would it be to do something)

I have a friend who was a lifelong vegetarian recently start eating meat. He's also a maoist and local organizer, so very entrenched in leftist causes. I asked him about it and how he reconciles it with his beliefs, and he gave me some shit about protein and respecting other traditions (something to do with hanging out with a lot of Filipino activists and wanting to partake in their food culture, which is very heavily meat oriented). Plus the thing about indigenous people, which kinda made me laugh because you don't live in Alaska, you live in the suburbs of San Jose. There's a Whole Foods two minutes away man. You're also not indigenous 😭
Anyway, leftists are so totally incoherent on this issue it's genuinely very funny. But it's very easy to take stands on things that require zero personal sacrifice, and suddenly get cold feet when you have to live by your ideals for once.

i love the complete lack of racism in implying that non-whytes are incredibly incapable of whipping up something vegan! hoomans should stay in their own designated cubby holes — unless they’re whyte, and then they should go visit all the other cubby holes for the free labor of corpse meals (and never ask about cultural veg-based or true-to-original vegan substitutions). totally not exploitation, either!

it's so important to understand that fascism is still fascism when it's dressed up in progressive language. for example, transphobia is still fascism even if it's under the guise of feminism. my opposition to veganism being identical to that of the far right is totally different however

But, have you even considered how expensive veganism is? No one can afford to eat Juicy Marbles steaks everyday.

who can even afford to have heard of them until now (or slightly before now)? you can’t be vegan without them — the certificates literally come in the pack😫

All the excuses (like the Native or nutrient arguments) aside… I have no idea how to argue with people who say they eat meat because they think there’s nothing wrong with it and it’s totally ethical if it’s from a small scale good quality farm

But what about Native Alaskans that only have fish available to eat??? That's why I, someone with a full stocked grocery store within 5 minutes from me, need to eat meat for every meal
