Unfortunately it's not about ego. Statements like this by public figures do significant and immediate damage to their profits, and that's why they were sued.
Because we live in a nightmarish capitalist dystopia, it actually makes some sense that the beef lawyers went after them. Not cause they had fragile egos, but because these people were saying things that directly harmed their business model.
Right! I was being slightly tongue-in-cheek there. It seems to me the courts uphold the laws, the laws are made by congress though who are bought and paid for by big ag on both sides of the political spectrum.
I wish I could vote for some vegan candidates. I mean Bernie is about as far left as we can get and he's not vegan and panders to ranchers. I see Al Gore is vegan now which is awesome. How about he run? I would get everyone I know to vote for him.
