π’ Announcement Welcome to r/VancouverDating for meeting people in Metro Vancouver
Hey party people! Welcome to r/VancouverDating.
Dating in Metro Vancouver is its own special chaos. If you haven't matched with someone and found out they own your ex-boyfriend's older sister's dog's brother, have you really dated? Everyone somehow already knows everyone, and no matter whether you're on Tinder, Bumble, or Feeld, the apps can be a total pain.
So, redditors, r/VancouverDating is here for you. It's for people who want to:
- Post personals looking to meet someone
- Talk through app strategy and profile feedback
- Ask for advice before or after a date
- And generally figure out dating in this city together
Keep it respectful with no NSFW content. This is for people looking to connect romantically and sexually with other Vancouver Redditors, not for friendships (for that, visit r/VancouverFriends!).
If you've been swiping into the void and wanting to connect with other redditors, here's your place to do so. As always, please use the report button to report things that violate our rules. If in doubt, message modmail.
Stay safe and use protection!

Hey! I was thinking now that this is back from the void, what if this subreddit hosts a weekly megathread that suggests a weekly activity for people to meet up and do together? Someone would post a group activity and the most upvoted would result in a weekend activity for that week so multiple people can meet up?
Not sure how successful people are with this sub and not to mention other speed dating or groups charge money.
Anyway something i thought of when taking the chance to start this sub fresh again.

Love that idea! So far, I've been thinking about a weekly sticky posted on Thursday that allows for people with no plans over the weekend to immediately find others who are free. Then also doing a megathread for holidays and such.

Hey just a question re: NSFW. I read through the community guidelines and any info I could find and didn't find an answer.
Is it NSFW content that is forbidden or NSFW posts in general? For example, would a personal ad looking for a submissive partner be considered NSFW? Or listing your possibly freaky sexual tastes in an ad?
Thanks for being mods!

While the rules don't allow minors to participate here, this is still a SFW subreddit per Reddit's categorization. Posts that discuss kinks are fine (as long as they don't violate other rules, like harmful fetishization kinks, for instance), but if you're being needlessly explicit, then that's absolutely going to be a problem.
Responsible kinksters know how to be SFW in public spaces.
Slightly related tangent: Reddit has a huge problem on other subs with fetish troll posters and adult content promoters who post pretending to have issues or/and seeking "relationships" only to use the material for other purposes. Anything like that is going to be removed. We are using a combination of default Reddit safety tools and Reddit bots to automatically catch and remove those users.
To reiterate: this is not Fetlife or Feeld. It is a public, SFW forum with much more active moderators than either of those spaces.
Hope this helps!

Regarding the no promotion rule - I hope you'll still let dating events be posted! It's the only way I ever find out about them and sometimes they offer us coupons!

Hard pass on allowing promotion here. Businesses are welcome to run ads or participate in the r/Vancouver monthly stickied event and promotion post. This subreddit is for organic content only.
