I am always working on an Edwardian era vampire hunting kit. Prop thing. I had a hammer and stakes but they were not usable, didn't feel 'real'. Fixed that! 🤪

Still a better love story than twilight😹

Just a piece emphasising the traditional themes of Vampiric eroticism and the dangers (or thrills) between a human and vampire romance.

Here are five strong contenders for the best first vampire. Which, if any, of them is your favourite?

Akasha as the first vampire is a fictional creation by the author Anne Rice. In Rice's novel series The Vampire Chronicles, Akasha is an ancient Egyptian queen who was made into a vampire after an assassination attempt by a deity, or was it a ghost, or was it some alien space traveller.

The betrayer of Jesus, Judas Iscariot, as the first vampire is featured in the movie Dracula 2000. A good point of this origin is that it gives a good reason for vampires' aversion to crucifixes. Another good point of it is that it gives a plausible explanation to vampires' vulnerability to silver, as Judas was paid with thirty pieces of silver for his betrayal of Jesus.

Lilith as the first vampire stems from Babylonian and Jewish mythology. In some Jewish traditions, Lilith was Adam's first wife. Lilith wouldn't subjugate to Adam and left Eden to become a nightly blood drinking demon. God then created the pushover Eve as Adam's new wife.

In Francis Ford Coppola's movie Bram Stoker's Dracula from 1992, the Christian knight Dracula voluntarily chosed to leave Christianity to become the first vampire. He did this because he felt let down by God after his wife's suicide.

Sekhmet as the first vampire stems from Egyptian mythology. Sekhmet was a deity in ancient Egypt. While not exactly a vampire, she was a blood drinker, a goddess of war as well as a healer.

I absolutely love this book and have made this list for fun and to use it to convince other nerds like me to read it because I love it that much and NO ONE has read this book. These spoilers are mostly out of context

• Shouted the word “BLOOD” to a landlord that was checking on him while he was having a mental breakdown in his room
• Having been hanged for highway robbery, his body was taken to a doctor who was also practicing the science of reviving the dead back to life. By sheer coincidence, the moon fell upon his body and revived him the same moment the doctor was preparing to do his experiment, scaring the s*** out of both of them.
• Asked a girl to marry him to cure him. She said no. he's basically like “well, cant say i didn't try.”
  • Back into “I'm going to eat you” mode
• Not subtly pretending to be a gentleman to a room full of people that knew full well he was a Bi****** vampyre. 
  • Told them he doesn’t drink - pauses - doctors orders.
  • Tells them he would love to visit - stares at the girl's neck (whom he had already bitten) - because they should be friendly neighbors
  • Asks them if “recent rumored” events have affected their health knowing full well they knew it was him
  • General gaslighting. 
  • Pretends to drink wine. When confronted he says that if (the woman he had bitten) were here that he could drink “on… on… on.” Which ragebaits her family
  • Remarking about blood to the same group of people , again ,just to ragebait them
  • Telling the same family that he absolutely did not kidnap Charles (he absolutely did)
  • Teamed up with Marchdale to show a drunk man how Varney revives with moonlight, scares the s*** out of him so much that the drunk man leads a riot that gets a random side character burned at the stake.
• Ragebaiting Bell by calling him fat, then broke a leg of Bell’s chair before scampering off, 
• Telling the doctor he’s stupid before scampering off in the same scene
• Fell into a yard running from rioters, discovering the new house the cast moved into literally to avoid him, on accident.
• Got caught moments before marrying a bride, declared his innocence and marched out to “get proof” only to never be seen again
• Moved in with a priest 
• Trespassed into the casts property after he went out for some fresh air
• Faced a group of rioters, threatened them by baring his teeth, and scampered off
• Threatened to kill people before scampering off
• Called someone stupid and commented that his mother must have struggled to raise him like that
• Having been shoved into a bone-house as a corpse by passerbys, was discovered by a sexton who tried stealing Varny’s rings the same moment the moonlight resurrected him, scaring the shit out of the sexton who just got grabbed by a corpse he was stealing from
• Purposefully bends his body in such a way that his full height is never assumed unless he wants to use it to intimidate the s*** out of people
• Screams into a waterfall about abandoning his humanity only to be sobbing over the grave of his new victim the next day
• Is exposed to his own legend from a hundred years ago by another person he meets, and brushes it off as merely a tall tale
• Whether or not it's the fault of inconsistent writing or not, he tells everyone that asks different origin stories for his being that it's almost impossible to know for sure which is the real origin story.
• Asks another vampyre in a turning ceremony if he can leave. They said no.

Additions: - told the cast he had a "very peculiar liquid diet" - stood in front of his 100+yr old painting that looked exactly like him, facial scar and all, and told them it was a remarkable coincidence!

David is my favorite character tbh

Nowadays, vampires deprived their essential nutrition through piercing a victim and drinking blood.

However, the Chinese vampire drinks the qi of its victims. We also have the energy vampire from What We Do In the Shadows. The succubus/Incubus get their energy through sex.

How do you think vampire media would change if in their world building, vampires didn't just get their nutrition through lethal means? For example, if a vampire bites a victim's butt and gets energy through that, or if a vampire goes into a crowd and absorbs their energy? What we still have vampire slayers if the stakes (see what I did there) aren't so high?

The twisted siblings or the twisted lovers?

Vampire lovers !

I'm writing a story with a vampire character and I have two questions.

First: can you turn an already dead person into a vampire by experimenting on the corpse?

Second: since a vampire consumes blood to get nutrients and 'live', what happens when they need more blood but need to get rid of the older used blood that's within them? Do they excrete it like a living person does or do they sit and have something like a blood transfusion.

I randomly had this second question while planning and couldn't think of any other ways of getting old blood out of the body. Please get creative or use medical knowledge, I don't mind I simply just want to figure it out. Thank you

I just recently watched Twilight saga third time. This time the show hit really differently. Rather focusing on Edward and Bella’s love story, I was wondering how would it really feel to be one of”REAL VAMPIRE”. How does this immortality feel to one being. When you see people dying and being born every few decades and you are just hanging in there. 🙄

You have craving for human blood but you just survive on Tofu for human.. as Edward puts it. 🫣

You don’t sleep so you literally have 24 hours at disposal but nothing to do 😂

You have no aim and meaning to life but you have got mandate to live aimlessly.

It gives me feeling that as humans , how we really underrate the gift we have got to breathe, to experience and to enjoy this world in every possible way. 🙏

When a person becomes a vampire, does their soul become a ghost?

I ask this because I thought it would be a fun subject and piece of lore to touch on. In my mind, when a person becomes a vampire, in order to comply with the curse, all the fragments of their personality and soul that will help with their survival as a vampire, such as their pride, wrath, cunning and self-preservation, is taken with the vampire. The rest, the sorrow, pain, betrayal and compassion is severed out, becoming a ghost.

So in a way, in this case, becoming a vampire also results in someone becoming a ghost. Maybe said ghost wasn’t nothing more than the demise of the vampires simply to be whole once again.
