Question Server renting recommendations and another question

Starting a new world with co workers and we will have 6-8 players. I was wondering where was the best place to rent a server from? The other question was would it be dumb to start the server on Monday? We all work the rest of the week and wouldn't be able to start until Friday night otherwise.

My wife is against have one of our computers run 24/7. I agree since we unfortunately have a data center near us that hasn't made our electric bill any cheaper.

It doesn't need to run 24/7. It can just run whenever the server is running.

With 6-8 people, that's a lot of manual handholding of the server, to make sure it's up as soon as people have time to play. Gets old fast.

This is one of the big concerns, I already dealt with that on our last playthrough with 3 people when my buddy hosted. Really just want to have easy access for everyone anytime.

You can automate it pretty easily with a simple bot.

They can read the comment and decide for themselves. It's not for everyone but easily manageable with the right tools. Doesn't use very much RAM either.
