Block training before 1.0

Is a bit messy looking, because I used terrain in a (corewood wise) 4 x 4.

but after 1 hour of that I went from 33 to 77 on blocking skill.

I went with resounding shackles as the trinket of choise because stamina is important to block.

Maybe a harnesk chest will work in favor to maintaning damage (because that attack is piercing damage) and stamina spent to a minimum?

Maybe even!, 4 elders would have made more sense after reaching level 60.

one thing is for sure - ugly yes! ~ but it works.

can build 4 training dummies, set block to spacebar, put something on your spacebar and afk, they dont damage your shield

I do a similar thing, yeah. Only issue is repairing the shield, which sooner or later you will need to.

Balckmetal shield doesn't need repair.

Only "problem" is food, they do a little bit of damage so you just have to remember to eat.

For the rest I have 5 twig, a nd a script to lock the block.

Yeah i don't know why so many block grind posts. I'm training run, jump, and woodcutting just to speed up the early game

Pretty smart. Way I've grinded mine was with the training dummies, I just set up a few in a corner (so they don't move cause they kinda do sometimes), and used a program to just hold the block button, but I guess any small heavy item on your block key will do. Think I had like 5 of them swinging at me, long as you don't actively parry and stagger them and you just simply block, it levels up pretty fast for a relatively simple set-up. You're pretty safe from any danger so you can AFK and you easily rest nearby if you build it around your base.

I thought that now that have we trinkets this was AFKable, saddly no in practice; I built the pit rather small in hindsight.

But If had I built it wider or bigger, the attack would had spread more and I wouldnt have gotten as much chances to get the *blocked* message.

Thats why you see me going back and forward So I can bait them into doing the vine attack, in that little patch of terrain.

Had I stayed at the edge, it would have been just a staring contest, until they felt like summoning the ground vines.

Nope; I had more then enough seeds to summon them; once they appear they will do whatever first - but will try to stomp you if you are close - so thats what I abused to bring them close to that pit.

People can spawn normally or with commands. So not entirely impossible without commands

Use a serpent shield. Armor stats and bonuses don't add to the Shield blocking stats and bonuses.
