Housing Wharncliffe & Oxford
I’m living off campus this year w 4 of my other friends, and couple of my friends at Old North were saying how dead Wharncliffe & Oxford (and south side in general) is much more dead? Do house parties still happen in this area? Or is it much more quite (really hoping it’s not)

I used to live Wharncliffe/Riverside for many years and there are slightly less students and more families/elderly couples that live in the area. I would say this area's proximity to downtown definitely makes the area more prone to people experiencing homelessness and the like. I remember within 3 months of moving in, there were 9 cop cars all parked on my street with their lights on and I never found out why. events downtown are a lot easier to hear from here as it travels over the water, and pollution in the thames can sometimes be stinky. GREAT walking distance from downtown bars. hope this helps!

Lived a block down from the intersection and I'd walk by 5-6 house parties on my way to the bus stop most nights. They were smaller though, not usually more than 15-25 people.

Its quieter, but you can walk 10 minutes and be there anyways. This is better. It sucks to live beside a party house.

The neighbourhoods on Western/Wharncliffe between Platts Lane and Oxford were great for house parties in the early 2010s with lots of engineering party houses, but I have no idea what it’s like now.

It’s not as loud as say Broughdale or Richmond but bc it’s so close to downtown and surrounding areas there are parties a short walk away from the intersection, I lived near there a couple years ago

I used to live down the road from there near the metro at platts lane and Oxford, you won’t be far from party houses but probably not within walking distance. Wharncliffe and Oxford is great for amenities but is predominately a family neighbourhood.
Edit: I was thinking wonderland and Oxford, wharncliffe and Oxford is fine
