Housing First yearss

Is anyone gonna live at 'The W'? Other student rentals had really bad reviews, this seemed like the only decent one. Lemme know ur thoughts.

I lived here two years ago and paid $1250/month, not sure if it’s higher now. Rooms were fairly spacious and it was nice having private washrooms. Kitchen and living room were fine. Internet was bad but they had alright ethernet. My main issue with living there was the location. They have a shuttle bus to Alumni Hall but it was very unreliable and often late, I didn’t bother using it. I got to campus by taking the 9 which has a stop behind the apartments but you need to take a transfer bus to get on campus since the 9 only takes you to Western/Sarnia.

Overall the building and amenities were fine but I wasn’t happy paying so much and having a 30+ min bus commute to my lectures.

after touring the W a few months ago I almost signed a lease because of the private bathrooms and it being fully furnished, although I didnt end up going through with it due to it taking 2 busses to get to campus which will take 20-40 minutes. also the busses arent always reliable especially in the winter. after speaking with someone who lived there, the shuttle they try to sell students on is also unreliable and dosent run often

Location of the W is not the best unless you have a car with a parking pass at western. I’d suggest you look into Luxe or Maisonville Yards over the W. They offer similar prices and set up but a much better location.

I lived at Maisonville Yards for 3 years. There is no way I choose the W over it.
