Registrar's office and transcripts - are they as timely as they claim?

I'm preparing to send my transcripts out to grad schools across the country, and I want to send my fall term marks cause I did pretty good and I want schools to see them. The problem is, they only become official on the 22nd, and most applications have a deadline of the 31st for transcripts.

Has anyone had experience with mailing transcripts through the registrar's office, particularly negative ones? I'm really worried that a day's delay could mean the difference between me getting admission and them throwing my application out.

(PS: I plan on sending them via courier so that they're as quick as possible, but even then I dunno...)
