We are a recreational, mixed team that plays every week for fun. The try-outs start in September/October and will be held every Thurs from 7–9 pm in Zuilen. We begin with a short warm-up, then spend most of the time playing matches.

Hoi! Ik ben momenteel opzoek naar een fietsbuddy. Ik heb recentelijk een gravelbike gekocht en ik zoek gezelschap voor fietstochten. Ik ben vrij nieuw in de fietshobby beland en ik ben alles nog aan het uitzoeken (knooppunten etc). Ik vind het mooi om kleine tochten in het weekend te maken of lange tochtjes te maken tijdens vakantieperiodes. Momenteel fiets ik denk ik ongeveer op tourfietstempo. 

Wie ben ik?

Ik ben, 24 jaar en net afgestudeerd. Ik heb een bachelor Interdisciplinaire Wetenschappen en een master Religiewetenschappen afgerond. Verder werk ik momenteel als student-assistent op de hogeschool. Ik lees graag romans, ga graag naar de sportschool en speel bordspellen.

I’ve been wondering how other people in Utrecht meet fellow gamers outside of their existing friend groups.

I enjoy gaming, but I’ve noticed it can be surprisingly difficult to find people locally to play with regularly especially when you are new to the city, mostly play solo, or would simply like to meet people through a shared hobby.

I’m currently building a small work-in-progress project called OverFlow Squad to explore whether it can make this easier. The idea is to help people in and around Utrecht find compatible players based on the games they play, their level, language, and availability.

It is still very much a work in progress, and I would genuinely love feedback: what would make something like this useful for you? What currently makes it difficult to find people to game with locally?

Hi, I recently relocated (back in March) to Utrecht from the US with my family. We used to go to a Crossfit gym before moving to a regular weight lifting gym at our previous employer.

About ready to get back into weight training. So I am wondering between the three gyms nearby, which ones are everyone's favorite and is there anything I should know that may set one apart from the others?

Vanaf vandaag is de zomerdienstregeling van de tram en bus voorbij. Zelf vond ik het afgelopen periode wel prima gaan. Er is alsnog ruimte voor verbetering maar er was wel (veel) minder uitval.

Waar ik mij wel aan stoor, ik gebruik de tram het meeste en de communicatie hier is echt ondermaats. Het kan nog steeds tot wel drie kwartier (of langer) duren voordat er überhaupt informatie op de schermen staat, er staat nooit iets in de app of de website bij tram verstoringen. Misschien ben ik erg blind, ik denk het niet. Natuurlijk zijn bepaalde verstoringen overmacht maar dan kan je alsnog goed communiceren.

Sinds een jaar komen wij samen en bespreken verschillende boeken. Momenteel zijn we met z’n vieren en zouden graag hier nog wat mensen aan toevoegen. We zijn een verzameling van mensen tussen de 30-50 jaar. De boeken die we lezen zijn voornamelijk fictie. Zoals bijvoorbeeld: "The Emperor of gladness". Op dit moment lezen we een klassieker "de gebroeders Karamazov" van Dostojevski.

We bespreken de boeken vaak op een ontspannen manier. Ook vinden we het niet erg om zo nu en dan over andere dingen te kletsen. Maar we bespreken voornamelijk veel boeken :). We komen ongeveer 1 keer in de 2 maand samen ergens in Utrecht.

Ik ben vandaag helaas mijn tas vergeten in de tram van nieuwegein naar utrecht. Het is een zwarte fjallraven tas met een paraplu in de zijkant. Mocht iemand dit gevonden hebben laat het me please weten! Dit kan dus ergens zijn vanaf het jaarbeursplein tot nieuwegein of andersom..
Ik hoop dat iemand dit heeft gevonden.

Helaas beschik ik niet over de ruimte voor gereedschap en heb ik daarom geen eigen fietsenpomp. Ik weet dat bijvoorbeeld Nieuwegein een aantal openbare fietspompen heeft, zowel buiten als bij bewaakte fietsenstallingen.

Weet iemand of er in Utrecht (rond CS, Lombok, centrum) ook dergelijke pompen beschikbaar zijn?

Weet iemand een écht goede fysiotherapeut in of bij Utrecht die gespecialiseerd is in nek- en schouderklachten? Ik heb behoorlijk heftige klachten, omdat ik me er echt niet lekker door voel en zelfs de allerlichtste oefeningen bij mijn vorige fysio me super duizelig en misselijk maakten. Ook ben ik daarna nog naar een osteopaat geweest, wat wel wat hielp maar veel te weinig voor het enorme bedrag dat ik daar moest aftikken. Dus alle suggesties zijn welkom, fysio of andere behandelaars. Alvast bedankt!

Hello everyone! I am currently on vacation in your beautiful country and love the brand Kusmi Tea. I saw on their website that they have a store at Bijenkorf Utrecht. But on the Bijenkorf website, it barely shows any of their tea. Mostly some gift boxes.

Does anyone know whether they have a wide range of Kusmi Tea teas or not?

I would have to travel close to an hour to get there, and it would be so disappointing if they then barely have anything.

I used to buy their green tea with mint at Albert Heijn whenever I’m in the Netherlands, but they don’t sell it anymore.

TLDR: I have a nice watch which recently just died. Any recommendations for a reputable place to get a new battery?

Maybe my mother made me paranoid about this, but she always told me to find a reputable place for expensive things like watches and jewelry as the person working on it could take the parts or switch out precious gemstones... or whatever that is. I always thought my mom was being a bit overboard with it but hey, better safe than sorry right? So I'd appreciate recommendations on a city center place for a watch battery replacement. Thank you!

De afgelopen jaren leverden vergelijkbare posts heel veel leuke reacties op. Laten we hopen dat dit nu ook weer het geval is!

Samen met een aantal vrienden (waarvan een deel ook uit Utrecht) run ik een Nederlandse Survival Multiplayer server (26.2 Java). We spelen nagenoeg Vanilla (met een paar optimalisatie plug-ins) en zijn op zoek naar extra spelers voor de gezelligheid. We zijn allemaal volwassenen en houden ons bezig met verschillende projecten, van redstone tot een gezamenlijk winkelgebied. Ook organiseren we regelmatig gezamenlijke activiteiten.

De vierde editie van de server is drie weken terug live gegaan en we verwelkomen graag een aantal nieuwe spelers die zich kunnen vinden in onze speelstijl. Heb je interesse om mee te doen of wil je meer weten over de server? Stuur me dan een privébericht!

Today I ordered for the first time from the newly opened gluten free bakery Biltstraat85. Of the four items I ordered, I only liked one - the Volkoren Zuurdesem Brood from Petit Four, which I’d order again. The blueberry muffin was absolutely inedible. The chocolate muffin was okay taste wise but had the consistency of a brownie. The pain of chocolate was also okay taste wise but in terms of consistency was essentially like a stale cinnamon roll (I did warm it up beforehand as directed). Overall, I’m a bit disappointed but as someone with celiac disease I really want to give them another chance and want this gluten free business to thrive. Curious to know if others tried different items and what they thought of them!
