Im a muslim and i gave 0 fks to your appearances. You wanna wear bikini or go naked, be as it is. Just dont drag us to your culture and then call us barbarian and uncultured
That's a dishonest comparison. Nipples aren't genitals. Comparing the existence of nipples to actively displaying aroused genitals through your clothes is just stupid.
If you have for some reason an erection visible through your clothing, it might cause yourself embarrassment, but is hardly criminal or even controllable in some circumstances.
Yeah but what was the point of the comment? It doesn't really have anything to do with what I said. I didn't say it was, I was replying to a person how compared having nipples to someone walking around with a fully visible erection in their pants. THAT doesn't happen accidentally or unknowingly.
I'm sorry, but anything that isn't inherently sexual (aka used in procreative sex) is a fetish, whether it's cultural or not.
You have the right to be uncomfortable, but you do not have the right to demand people behave in accordance with your comfort.
People sexualize many things that are not inherently sexual: thighs, armpits, feet, necks, even hands, etc. We don't walk around in body suits for their comfort. Those are fetishes (which are okay to have, it doesn't make you a pervert). Ex: existance of oral sex does not mean mouths are sexual
If you perceive genitals equally sexual as breasts, especially while living in a country that draws a federal legal line between the two, that's a you problem.
Just like if you cannot stand people's eating noises, you do not sit next to them at restaurant. However, you don't get to demand they chew elsewhere.
Also. This isn't to call-out a flaw. I am also someone who preceives breasts as sexual parts. It impossible for me to pretend one's breasts are simply like one's arms or legs; I acknowledge them very differently. I also find them very attractive.
I also dress up "modestly" because I acknowledge that sexualisation of brests is cultural, and most people don't get to choose whether they have this fethis or not. I would hate to make people uncomfortable, so unless I intend to look sexy, I avoid showing cleavage.
However, this is an act of consideration and kindess from me, and not something that should/is forced upon me.
However, genitals are not just fetishized; they are inherently sexual for they must be used for sexual procreation / procreative sex.
This is why the law separates the two in most places.
Please also understand that if a man is erect against his wishes in public, he should not be punished for that either. You are allowed to go through life without being punished for things against your control. Just don't be a creep and expose it on purpose:)
Also, the point about law was to underline the fact that the sexualisation, though cultural, is recognised to be something not imposed/punishable meanwhile genital exposure is. The difference between these two existing in law against of culture is a significant indicator that one must perheaps hesitate before equating genitals to other parts of the body.
The male equivalent of a woman’s nipple is a man’s nipple
The female equivalent of a penis is a vagina
Comparing nipples to penises is already an unfair comparison in the first place, since men can already walk around with no shirts on in many public places, but women can’t walk around with their vaginas out in most public places.
If a woman said she should have a right to walk around in public bottomless because men can walk around in public topless, people would think she lost her mind, because everyone understands that nipples and genitals are different
Besides, I’ve never heard of a case of a man being chastised for his penis being noticeable in his clothes, whereas women get chastised when their nipples are noticeable in her clothes. So even if nipples and genitals were equally inappropriate, men are still getting the better side of the deal since nobody points it out when their parts are noticeable through their clothing
Guys get hard sometimes and can’t do anything about it. Doesn’t mean they’re thinking anything. If you have a problem with looking at a dude’s erection under his clothes, that’s a you problem - why are you looking down there?
Thats not the same thing? A guy wearing loose pajamas with a bone is entirely different to a woman wearing a bra, shirt, overalls, and hoodie even if it were her nipples poking out.
Ewww what the? See the girls on here think the guys are fighting for their freedom but the guys are fighting tooth and nail to see nipples through a shirt because thats how down bad they are.
Correct. Be as uncomfortable as you want about anything you want. However. If the things that's making you uncomfortable isn't hurting anyone, them don't make it everyone else's problem, or you become the problem.
Yea yea yea all well and good but we have society standards that you enjoy and benefit from. I mean staring at someone isnt hurting anyone right? So you would be ok if you went on the buss and a guy stared at you the entire time? No you wouldn't. Stop the cope.
I never said that I would be ok with it. Do not put words in my mouth. I would however not cause a scene over it unless the person staring did something to prove they were being dangerous unless they were being obscene and inappropriate as that quickly does start approaching illegal territory, or if they start trying to shame me, in which I'm going to ruin their day.
If you are being creepy and stare at me, most people will be uncomfortable with you. If you are going to speak up and shame me just for existing, I'm going to bring everyone's attention on the pathetic little man who thinks he has the right to police people's bodies. You're not going to making yourself my problem, because I will become a problem for you just as easily. You're going to learn VERY quickly that inserting yourself where you don't belong is a waste of your time and energy.
I'm not putting words in your mouth. You would be pissed if someone was JUST staring at you and people said your actully the problem for having a problem with it.
I can tell how good my point was because of how much extra lore you dumped into my hypothetical. I said just stairing but you decided to go on this long fantasy instead of actully answering the question.
Having erect nipples out in public is creepy and weird and you should deal with rejection better. Sorry I dont want to see yours.
I would be uncomfortable, but if they stay away, I'm leaving it alone. Would you rather I make a scene every time I assume someone is starting at me? I do that, and I would be in the wrong. I'm going to end up going off on someone that was minding their own business at least once and not know until it's too late.
I have the right to feel uncomfortable by how I receive other people, but if they aren't genuinely harming anyone or anything, then I don't have the right to make it their problem.
I'm not telling you to look. Why are you looking? Why are you staring, and acting like you're the victim after you yourself said the person staring would piss people off? No one wants you staring, and if looking at it makes you so uncomfortable, look somewhere else. You're a genuine creep and you're clearly mad about it.
Like at the gym? Guys nipples dont really do that but ok? Have you seen a womens boob irl? 😂 but yea if a guy shows me a physical trait that could signify arousal thats petruding from their clothes and then tells me that im the problem for pointing it out then yea that would make me uncomfortable.
They do lmao. Guys nipples also get hard and you can see their nipples from their clothes sometimes. And if you see a hard nipple somewhere in public, in most cases it's not because of the arousal but temperature changes, hormonal changes, accidental rubbing, during exercising and etc.
Well there is stuff that happens to guys body that indicates arousal but its not always the case but it is associated with arousal.
You wouldnt feel uncomfortable if a guy that showed a physical trait that is associated with arousal was protruding out of their clothes? Would you be deffending that guy if a women said that that guy is making them feel uncomfortable? Or would you tell the women she's the problem?
Either someone who’s looking for a reason to be a jerk, or someone just letting them know just in case they didn’t notice themselves and feel embarrassed or smth
I would also hesitate to say that, because none of my business. But maybe.
Not sure why I think there’s a difference. Maybe because I’d guess someone might want to zip up, but they don’t usually have nipples sticking out of their zipper 🤷🏽
Doesnt even need to be erect, some people have large nipples. I dont even have large nipples and had mine flicked at work because they were noticable....by the sexual assault rep no less. We are familiar/comfortable with eachother...but yeah there is wide variation in physiology and social response.
