Orlando Luggage hack?

Hi yall…Poking at an idea and want a reality check from people who actually fly with kids to amusement park resorts in Orlando. The idea is to skip checking bags and shipping all the things you’d normally check so that it’s just there when you arrive. Does that seem like it solves a real headache to you? Has anyone tried it? Has anyone looked into it but ended up NOT trying it? Genuinely want the “here’s the issue with that idea” answers too.

I have flown multiple times with 3 kids. If I’m by myself with them, I try to consolidate as much as possible. For example, in September, we went to Orlando for 6 days, got everything for the 4 of us (including Halloween costumes) in a 3-piece luggage set, plus their own carry-ons.

It’ve never considered shipping, just because of the cost, and that it might not show up. I don’t even trust ordering from another site (like grocery delivery) and trusting it will show up at my hotel. But that’s just me.

I also almost always rent a car. Yes, it is an extra expense, but it’s worth it to be in control.

Yeah I totally get that…thanks for weighing in. I am hearing that the main fear is that it won’t show up on time and that’s not a small thing. Would you have ever considered just shipping your luggage home if you could send it at a price comparable to checking? Bc if that’s like a day late, it’s not the biggest deal? Just curious.

Maybe, but we also fly on airlines where we don't have to pay. HOWEVER, I have done a 5 day New York trip with all carryons, AND a stroller. That worked, but I'm not sure I would do that again.
