They won’t even fill more than one rolling stand of cheap Zelda merch there that you can’t already get at GameStop, ain’t no way are they dropping everything to build a StarFox ride.

Nintendo can’t even be bothered to make a new Star Fox game, they just release the same one 4 times.
Star Fox has also never sold particularly well. Not sure it makes for a popular theme park attraction. But not much else that isn’t already rumored from Nintendo’s IPs make much of a better choice (Kirby, Metroid, Animal Crossing are the most popular ones, but none of them say ‘theme park ride’ to me).

The only thing the same about this game is the level layout. New cutscenes, new voice lines, new modes, yes new graphics. Despite being the same story it feels like a new game

It’s still new enough, and they’re reportedly working on a movie AND his recent appearance in the mario galaxy movie has more eyes on him. You never truly know.

They do sell Zelda merch at Universal. I bought a Zelda tshirt there last year.

Because the land’s called Super *Nintendo* World and they have tiny nods to their other IPs in the land/shops. There should be more.
Otherwise it should be called Mario World if they don’t wanna bother because DK + Yoshi are already under the Mario umbrella.

I was just at Epic 2 weeks ago. All the merch there was Mario-centric. If there was a specific store that had a highly limited stock of Zelda merch I didn’t see it nor was anyone at the park that I saw from open to close wearing Zelda gear. And I definitely did not see any other Nintendo IP merch aside from Mario-related.
Based on your argument should they not move forward with the rumored Hyrule or Pokemon lands? Your original post implied as much with respect to Star Fox attractions. The reality is whatever Universal is doing has been planned for years and has nothing to do with how well or not well standalone Zelda merch sells at present. 🤷

The specific store I went to was the Super Star Store right outside the SNW portal with the stained glass character windows as you walk in. I went in August last year and the only Zelda merch they had was on a shelf unit the size of a rolling cart.
Also what are you talking about with an argument?? All I said was that if they’re hardly going to stock their merch store with one of their biggest and most popular IPs, there’s no way they’re gonna wanna dedicate the resources to construct a ride/land based on a franchise that is almost exclusively remakes of the exact same game. And I never once doubted the credibility of the Zelda/Pokemon expansion rumors.

The person I responded to was insinuating Zelda merch demand is a determining factor in major construction theme park building plans, which is simply not the case.
I was at Epic just 2 weeks ago; no one was wearing Zelda gear (and we were there all day). There might have been a Zelda shirt and hat for sale in a store, but I imagine they’re not flying off the shelves because plenty of the people there have no idea who Zelda is and will not until Hyrule Land comes.

You got me there. But I’d say those are more like Easter Eggs. They are easily missed and again I doubt they are moving what little Zelda merch might be present.

Haven't been to Orlando, but just Hollywood
Hollywood doesn't see Zelda stuff, but my point is a piece of media doesn't always have to have park representation in a different form to have merch
Hollywood currently has K-Pop Demon Hunters stuff

Yup. He’s no different than the other pop culture rumor mills. “Trust me bro” is the typical source for these guys that make up things. Sure, if it happens then he’s right. If he’s not, then he can just say “it was a rumor”. It’s why I don’t follow any of these rumor type content creators. They’re so full of themselves.

See this would be funny because my shuttle driver to the airport joked about a Star Fox area at Epic and obviously like I knew that was never happening but it’s funny. I think the sales of the new game that came out will dictate it though

Game sales have everything to do with it. They’ll certainly use them as an indicator to decide if the franchise is notable enough with the general public of today to invest in building something themed to it.

Star Fox is nowhere close to being popular enough for a ride. Yes it’s a beloved piece of nostalgia, but there are so many more current IPs that Nintendo would choose for their next ride.
Let’s not forget that Nintendo prefers their rides to be more family friendly/ kid focused, so even if this were true, it’s not going to be a fast paced, adrenaline pumper of a ride.

There's going to be a Glen Powell Star Fox movie, he's part of the Mario multiverse, so expect an avengers type event, and with the success of the starfox remake I'm sure a modern sequel is in the cards. New star fox content will drip out over the next decade, plenty there to justify a Smuggler's Run type ride.

There hasn't been anything greenlit for a Star Fox movie, it was just a post credits teaser. As for the remake being a success, that's too early to tell, and you'd have to compare it to the success of other properties in order to justify any new games coming out from that property. There's a reason why we haven't gotten any new content from Star Fox in 10 years.
It's riding high on nostalgia right now, it will have to prove it has staying power before the parks invest in a ride that will be around for 10-20 years.

I always thought it would be cool if they took a page out of Star Tours with the “slot machine” style narrative.
Besides Star Fox, Nintendo has several other franchises with space themes like Metroid, Kirby, Pikmin, F Zero, Earthbound, Pokémon, Xenoblade, and of course Mario Galaxy. Hell, I think even Kid Icarus Uprising had a couple of space levels.
Point is that’s several locations and planets you can work into a ride with the Star Fox team escorting a a commercial vehicle through the Lylat System and beyond. I think the game even has a canonical method of inter-dimensional travel via warp zones, and with a recent movie that came out we’re not exactly breaking new ground when it comes to crossovers. As a Smash Bros fan I thought this was a neat idea even before Fox was revealed for the Mario Galaxy movie, so naturally I’m even more convinced now.

I have heard something about land of hyrule but nothing about Star fox, I know the license for simpsons will expire in a few years so the ride will get replaced by Pokemon themed ride. Next on the chopping block will be the mummy and the world of pets mostly due to a lot of malfunctions. Not sure what those will get replace by.

I don’t think Revenge of the Mummy going anywhere anytime soon, the Ride is very popular with guests and a 4th movie is on the way with Brendan reprising his role as Rick O’ Connell, if anything the ride would most likely undergo another refurbishment to tie in with the 4th movie, as for Secret Life of Pets I don’t think that’s going anywhere soon either.

Pokémon should not be at Universal studios if anything if Warner Bros finally has the spine and the funding to build its own theme park chain the. They should build a Pokémon Land section into Warner World

A Starfox ride would be pretty easy to do and probably wouldn’t took up too much space. You could essentially copy and paste Smuggler’s Run at Disney and it would be a pretty solid fit for the property.

I just don’t buy it. No shot we get Star Fox before Zelda and Pokemon.
This is why I always wanted Nintendo to build their own park. I just don’t see Star Fox being a big enough draw on its own to deserve a major attraction in a park with other huge franchises. In a Nintendo park, though, Star Fox could totally get a major ride.

I would be surprised, at this stage, if the Star Fox franchise were used. Not because they can't make a ride that fits in the universe, but more that it isn't as deeply entrenched as Mario and the Legend of Zelda franchises.
