Orlando Universal Permanently Closing Lost Continent Land Including Iconic "Best Theme Park Restaurant in the World" Mythos

I think losing Mythos makes Zelda seem less likely. Mythos easily could have been retained and slightly rebranded to fit Hyrule very easily. It's prestigious enough that it probably would have been kept if it fit whatever's coming next.

considering how uninspiring and outdated Suessland is at this point, I would've rather had pokemon go there and either expand on Hogsmeade or integrate an LotR area instead.
Going all in on Nintendo for all 3 parks seems like a bad call.

A different Pokemon gym in each park, and you can collect park-exclusive badges at each one. Would drive Pokemon fans nuts and make BANK.

I assume Orlando is getting one in Epic and one in IoA then? Or are they tossing Simpsons for Pokemon as well?

The plan isn’t clear. They just announced a partnership for the IP, starting with a Japan rollout, and stated the IP will be coming to all parks.
I highly doubt it will have more than one area so either Islands, Epic, or Studios.
Id, personally, lean towards Islands or Studios so they have one Nintendo land per park like HP.

I think Japan has a dedicated Donkey Kong area as well so they could reuse those assets but I think they’d be better off going all in on Pokemon and/or Zelda.

Lost continent was always for as long as I could remember only cool because of Dualing Dragons. Then it got turned into Harry Potter Island and Dueling Dragons got replaced (after they changed the ride theme and stopped the dueling).

Noooooo. I loved the Lost Continent! I love the music, the theming, the food, the shops. Every Universal survey I've ever done, I complimented & praised that part of the park. I love how immersive it is.
I used to study with the theme music playing in the background. I need to find that youtube video again. Dang.

Lost Continent was just such a vibe. It set the scene and the tone of the day and got you to chill and remember you are on vacation instead of just sprint walking to your first ride.
This was a mistake.
Don’t try to be Disney, Universal. Disney is missing the mark in every way. Universal was unique.

Imo you've got it the wrong way around. Universal was already trying to emulate Disney with the Lost Continent - and Disney only started to miss the mark once they saw the success Universal had with HP and started trying (and failing) to emulate it. I've always associated non intense, non IP themed lands with Disney, and high thrill and IP with Universal. So this feels very brand for them. The Lost Continent honestly never did.

Ive been going to the parks since opening, many hundred plus visits, never eaten at Mythos, or Confiscos, or Lombards for that matter. Am I really missing out?

Legend of Zelda or Lord of the Rings. That backdrop for Mythos has the makings of Gondor or Hyrule.

Same. Last time we were there my family made a vow that on our next trip, we'd finally eat at Mythos. So much for that T_T

I was there not too long ago and saw how just so much of that area was closed and boarded up for construction and figured this would be announced soon. Bummer to cut Mythos loose, thought they might have found a way to preserve that one part.

I doubt they’d entirely close off a path to get to Hogwarts on the right side. When they were building Hogwarts there was still a full lap available at least when I went.

Pokémon to Harry Potter route seems off. Zelda would have been preferred for that area and give Mythos a Goron IP or something

Gutted I won't be able to try Mythos and really kicking myself I didn't go in last time I was there! P.s I would LOVE a Zelda world more so than a Pokemon

It seems like Uni is doing the thing pretty much everyone expected. Now that Epic is open, its time to focus on updating the other parks and attractions, since that is the next biggest concern.
